Candles are magical. There’s a reason they’ve been around for millennia—they have the power to completely change how you perceive a room. A good candle will turn any space into a home, with its combination of beautiful design, enveloping fragrance and warm, flickering flame. The problem is this: good ones cost more than $60.
That’s ridiculous. A candle made with impeccable materials and thoughtful design can and should be sold at an honest price.
We want to show you how.
Most candles cost so much because of traditional retail markups and middlemen fees. You’d be shocked to discover how little it actually costs to make a “luxury” candle.
By cutting out the middlemen and selling directly to you online, we can offer an incredible candle at a fraction of the price it would otherwise cost. Better ingredients, lower price. Finally, we can all burn great candles without holding back.

Before we quit our office jobs, we spent months studying the candle industry and learning about perfumery. We then spent more months designing, prototyping and testing every aspect of what would become the Keap Candle.
Who are we?
We’re two guys who used to work at Google analyzing bucket-loads of data. We set out to fix the problem of an environmentally unsound, overly commercial industry. It helped that we were obsessed with candles and candle-making before we even got started. We've taken the same approach that we honed in our former jobs—put the customer first, and do one thing really, really well—and now apply it to something we love.
Where we are and what we need
We’re ready to light these candles! We have all our materials determined, suppliers ready to fulfill orders, and our candle pouring technique down like a clown. We’re in the final stages of testing our fragrances to make sure they play nice with every candle. Now we just need $25,000 to get our first production run going!

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk to our project’s fulfillment is timing. All of our supply chain partners are ready to ship us wax, glass, and everything else we need. However, we still need a couple weeks after the Kickstarter to finalize the fragrance and wax stability testing we’ve been conducting. The rest of our timeline is our most realistic estimate of when we expect to ship to you, with a little bit of buffer—because things happen—but it’s neither an overly aggressive or sandbagging timeline.
If we can ship to you earlier than planned, we will. And if any timing issues arise, we pledge to communicate them to you in a timely, transparent manner, so you’ll never feel out of the loop.
