Scent is at the heart of our candles. We spent months developing this range with legendary master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, who shares our vision of creating well-balanced fragrances that brilliantly capture the world's most evocative scents. We stay away from sweet, cloying scents.
We use more expensive coconut wax because it burns wonderfully and slowly, throws scent well, and is a sustainable crop. See why we prefer it to paraffin and soy here.
The benefit of making and selling our candles ourselves extend beyond the quality of the materials we use. It allows us to produce a better candle, while simultaneously cutting out the fees of traditional manufacturer and retailer markups. Result: Better candles, better prices.

We designed our candleholders to be easy to repurpose—we use no adhesives, so the labels and wicks are easy to remove. See our guide to re-use.

For every Keap candle you buy, we donate $1 to SolarAid to cover solar lamp distribution costs—bringing light to those without access to the electrical grid. We're incredibly proud to play a part in their mission to eradicate kerosene lamps in Africa by 2020.

Our first Kickstarter campaign was a great success
The first campaign ignited in a way we couldn’t have imagined, delivering twice our goal. We’re proud to say that we delivered all our backers’ candles in a timely manner. Check out the comments on our previous campaign for a sense of our communication style, and backer happiness.
Developing new scents is costly, but with your support we can bring these new fragrances to life. Resisting the urge to give in to financial pressure, while sticking to our beliefs, requires patience and independence. Your support is what allows to remain proudly independent and stay true to our commitments of social impact, sustainability, and transparency.
Having already made thousands of candles this last year, we have our materials, suppliers and process down to a science. As before, we need just $25,000 to place orders for new fragrances at economical rates to allow us to keep our prices low.

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk to our project’s fulfillment is timing. All of our supply chain partners are ready to ship us wax, glass, and everything else we need. Our timeline is our most realistic estimate of when we expect to ship to you, with a little bit of buffer—because things happen—but it’s neither an overly aggressive or sandbagging timeline.
If we can ship to you earlier than planned, we will. And if any timing issues arise, we pledge to communicate them to you in a timely, transparent manner, so you’ll never feel out of the loop.
