G-Free Foodie is all about living Deliciously Gluten Free, and helping other Foodies avoid the allergens that complicate their lives, all while enjoying what we're eating & sharing it with others.
We started the G-Free Foodie Box club a few months ago with Gluten Free & Gluten Free + Dairy Free options, adding Nut Free shortly after. But options are still needed: Our customers have requested Paleo, Top 8 Allergen Free , and Organic + non-GMO boxes, and we're considering a kid-focused box too. We'd like to expand the G-Free Foodie Box Club to include these options, and to let more Foodies know about the club. Our goal is to serve more of our community and share the best products from companies that are making delicious, creative, wholesome foods with consumers that are looking for incredible allergen-free goods.
Each monthly shipment contains 5 full size products, plus samples, a gift from us, recipes & serving suggestions. K.C. curates each shipment, working with large companies and small artisan producers to make sure every item we ship is delicious and 100% safe. The products we select are Foodie-grade, and happen to be allergen free, not the other way around. Anyone who loves food will love our club.
K.C. works closely with several of the smaller producers, reviewing their ingredients, manufacturing practices, and sometimes even visiting their work space to ensure their products are safe, so we know we can send their Bacon Jam, Coconut Milk Caramels, Sriracha Ketchup or Truffle Popcorn with confidence - and so those folks have a clearer understanding of consumers with allergies. She also travels to expos, food shows, farmer's markets and events looking for products, in addition to working with buyers and brokers. That's why we're asking for your support. Sourcing these quality artisan foods, meeting with producers, researching ingredients and purchasing the products and supplies for our boxes takes time and money, and we want to do it right.
We hope you'll consider supporting our growth, to help with our expansion and bring more business to the artisans we've met along the way.
Please share our project with your friends, make a pledge to help us, and even consider joining the G-Free Foodie Box Club.
Risks and challenges
Sourcing Products: It looks like there are a ton of products on the market in these categories, and there are! We taste every single thing we ship, so there's all that eating - but we've had two main challenges beyond that: many subscription box clubs use only free product, which makes some vendors skittish to work with us. We can solve that with a conversation, but it takes getting to the right person - which takes time. We also have run into issues with selecting products, and then finding out their processes aren't up to our safety standards, so we have to move on. KC has been building a list of goods, but adding more club selections will take finding more products - quickly.
Warehousing & Shipping: the more products we source, the more space we need! We've teamed up with a company that will help us with inventory storage & order fulfillment, and we have every reason to believe our members will get their boxes faster without sacrificing quality. However, the next couple of months could certainly be a challenge, since we're expanding the club and moving to a new space at the same time.
