Hey, man. KC here. Was looking to print this webcomic I did for over three years. It's a weird one called "He is a Good Boy" about an acorn who is forced to leave his tree and face the uncertain horrors of modern bug society, which pretty much mimics our own but they're bugs instead (and rocks are alive, too). It pokes a lot of fun at itself and growing up and horror tropes and anything else that walks in its way. A story about the inevitability we feel like we have to accept but don't want to like. Going down kicking and screaming if we have to, that kinda stuff. It's cartoonishly gory and juvenile and that's what makes it fun to read, if you can stomach that kind of weird thinking. Not for everyone, I get it. But it'd be cool if you'd at least help us get it printed and published, cus I really do believe it's a good one I tried to make here. Thanks for helpin' out if you can.
Specifications for the book: Comin in at 8" x 11" and 444 pages. It's a biggun'! Full color, too. Glossy pages and stuff.
Oh, we also have a stretch goal at $40,000 to make a separate 52-page sketchbook, filled with early Crange sketches and lots of little doodles working out ideas and story concepts that made it into the comic. If we make the stretch goal ($40k), every copy of the book will include a copy of the sketchbook.
Specifications for Sketchbook: 6.625" x 10.25", 52 pages. Essentially the size of standard floppy comic book. Black and white insides, color cover.
A shirt has been designed and we want to include it was a kickstarter only incentive for people. It's a scowling Crange judging you for making such a purchase.
That's about it! You can always read the original story online, but as a book it would hopefully gain a new life and a new way to enjoy this wild ride. Thank you for reading.
Risks and challenges
I am working with Make That Thing yet again to get these books made and paid. I've worked with them on all past projects and they have shipped them all as well. They know what they're doin!
The book is ready, the sketchbook needs commentary, and everything else in in place. We just need the money to get it made, and that's why we're here.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
