Because the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" fandom is dispersed around the globe, I seriously considered doing international shipping for signed copies of the book and artwork. However, when doing research on postal rates, I found that prices weren't clear-cut, and that they were very expensive. Realistically, trying to push these kinds of international rewards would be a logistical nightmare for everyone involved. Then if I miscalculated the shipping costs in a way that skewed the cost breakdown of the project (see the campaign description), it would be detrimental to the overall endeavor. Even if such a devastating hypothetical didn't occur, such an undertaking is a series of headaches I am not prepared or willing to handle at this point in time.
That does not mean that "Four Elements, Four Nations" will not be available internationally if this project is successful. As you are reading this update on Kickstarter, you should know the power of the internet. I will be making sure that, at the very least, an e-book is available upon publishing. My main priority is to make sure that there are online merchants who will be able to reliably sell the physical book in the United States and internationally. I will also be working on stocking the book in American brick-and-mortar stores. If the book is successful enough, I hope to have the book published in other languages.
As for artwork, you can purchase digital pieces for as low as $5 and a custom-designed piece for $150.
