Week 3 update
Thank you to all of our new backers!
We are mid-way through week 3 and there are only 9 days left in this campaign, as of right now we are 73% funded and SOOOOO close to reaching the goal of 8k!!!!! I am amazed at the support being shown to me, to my workers, and to this project. I am also very grateful for all of the shares from you you all, I have a way of seeing where new backers come from, and 8% of the people who have backed this project were referred by you all using this link https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/katinagad/unity-outfitters-naturally-dyed-and-size-inclusive?ref=7hyr00 , I totally didn't expect that, but y'all really are the greatest and people do trust word of mouth, so I should not be surprised. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this project with people, I appreciate that!
This past Friday I presented this collection in a runway show in Raleigh, NC, and it was a huge success! The models looked fabulous, my hair and makeup team did an outstanding job, and the crowd went crazy over the looks. There has been a lot of positive feedback since the show about the inclusivity of the sizes offered, the vibrancy of the natural dye colors, and how cute and comfortable everything looked and felt.
Here is a picture I took before hitting the stage, excuse my cellphone shot - but I really wanted to share this moment with you all! I am meeting with the photographer who shot the looks at the show tomorrow, and will be getting those professional pictures soon to share online, so keep an eye out for new pics coming soon.
You may also notice on the left side of this picture 2 new looks that are not available through our crowdfunding campaign, the pajama set on the far left and the corset top second to the left will be part of our next collection to be released in January on our website. These were made using peace silk (cruelty free silk) that was handloomed by a women's cooperative in India, I naturally dyed the fabric by hand using the eco-printing/bundle dyeing method, and I made the patterns, then did the cutting and sewing of the samples myself.
Just like the pieces in our current collection, after I make the patterns and samples and photograph them, these items will be cut and sewn by the women who I employ when you order them. Your purchases really do make a difference in these women's lives, and they are so excited to get into production mode working a job they love and getting paid fairly for it.
Thank you again from all of us, Let's keep up the momentum!
