After years of doodling, writing and dreaming about flying, my obsession has morphed not into pilot training (maybe that's next!) but into an EP of theater songs: my first project as a solo recording artist!
Because I love new work and contemporary musical theater, and happen to know a lot of fantastically talented up-and-coming songwriters, I asked five of them -- Tony Asaro, Carner and Gregor, Matte O'Brien and Matt Vinson, Vince Peterson, and Mike Pettry -- to write songs for me about flight, or flying - whatever that meant to them. A few already had pieces to offer, the rest got to work, and an EP was born.
Over the past six weeks I've spent a few great sessions in the studio with my producer, Ethan Meixsell, and we have some beautiful, quality recordings featuring Vince Peterson on piano and Adam Waddell on violin...
...but there is still a lot of work to be done before we have lift-off! Here's where YOU come in. You can help fund the post-production process to get these songs out into the world.
Funds will go toward:
Final mixing and mastering processes
Cover design by the fabulous Marc Bovino
Royalties for songwriters
Digital distribution on iTunes and Amazon.com
Pressing and packaging for in-hand copies
Throwing (and videotaping) the release party!
