Wear what you want and ride when you want with the KATCH. The KATCH is a magnetic clip that holds your dress or skirt in place when you’re on your bike. For longer skirts, clip front and back together between your knees. For shorter skirts, put the KATCH on the front of the skirt and use its weight to keep your skirt down. The KATCH is available in different colors and fabrics to match your mood and style. After your ride, the KATCH also doubles as a great bracelet or can be stored on your bike frame until your next cycling adventure.A couple of years ago, Rebecca—the skirt wearing half of ARBR Studio—started commuting to work on her bike. She wanted to be able to wear skirts and dresses in our hot Phoenix weather without having to wear shorts underneath or change clothes when she got to work. She started using a metal binder clip to keep her skirt in place, but ended up with crimped and wrinkled clothes. We set out to solve this dilemma and, after some failed design concepts, hit on the idea of using magnets. We spent hours on the sewing machine experimenting with different fabrics, magnets and designs, and finally the KATCH was born.
After months of testing materials and designs, sewing new patterns up at our kitchen table, and handing out prototypes to cyclists for testing, we’ve found a design that works great and looks great, and we're ready to move on to final production. The KATCH has a patent pending. We’ve identified suppliers for the vinyl and magnets, and have started working with a small manufacturer in Los Angeles specializing in fabric and leather accessories who has sewn very high quality samples for us using our chosen fabrics. We are looking for enough support from the Kickstarter community to meet this manufacturer’s minimum order. We’ve made contact with several retailers interested in this product, and have plans to reach out to many more once production has begun. Now we need your support to manufacture our first run of the KATCH.
To start, we will be making the KATCH in three styles and four colors: the Glam (in pink and silver sparkly vinyl), the Natural (in tan faux-leather), and the Mod (in bright red vinyl). All styles are backed with oilcloth in cool patterns and feature colorful, contrasting stitching. (Please note that the photos here show pre-production prototypes, and the colors and fabrics of the final products may be slightly different.) For this Kickstarter campaign, we’re also offering a limited edition solid gold color KATCH, which will be personally sewn by one of us at ARBR headquarters.
We are very excited about the KATCH and think it has the potential to make life a little easier for lots of skirt and dress wearing cyclists. With your support, we can begin producing the KATCH and making it available to cyclists everywhere.
If we reach our goal of $5,000 we will be able to:
•produce our first run of this product
•create packaging for the product with display options
•cover shipping costs associated with marketing
If we reach our STRETCH goal of $10,000 we will be able to do all of the above plus:
•expand our color/ pattern selection to include more styles
•create a wider marketing plan to include both national and international potential clients

Risks and challenges
We are a small start up running our operation out of a home studio. After starting as a cottage industry, we've begun to rely on the skills of others to manufacture our designs. We're confident that our turn around time is accounted for in the rewards however there are times when shipments are slower than planned, when material orders get backed up, or when the stars simply don't align as we would like them to. Should we face unforeseen delays, we will contact all backers immediately and keep communication lines open during the production process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
