About this project
What is The Hookup?
Inspired by two iconic symbols, the heart and the script letter “S”, The Hookup is a simple and functional tool that solves a daily worry of every woman: how to keep her handbag clean and protected.
How to use The Hookup?
A simple twist transforms it into a sleek hook from which to hang numerous items (a purse, an umbrella, shopping bags, a coat, etc). Its unique patented design allows it to attach to just about any surface--doors, tables, bars, closets, desks, chairs--and renders it indispensable.
- Sitting or standing at a bar - Never worry about getting your purse stolen again when it’s right in front of you.
- In the restroom - Hang your purse from a countertop to keep it off the floor and clean.
- At a restaurant - Keep your purse off the ground and out from under you chair.
- At the office - Hang your purse anywhere so that it’s not cluttering up your space.
- In the car - Hang your coat or purse in your backseat.
- At the gym - Use it to hang your towel when drying off at the gym or at a pool.
- At a meeting - Make sure your bag is easily accessible during a meeting to retrieve necessities.
- At the movies or theatre - Hang your purse on the seat in front of you so that you don’t lose it in the dark.
- In your closet - Use The Hookup to hold your purse on a standard clothes rod.
How is The Hookup made?
Intricately engineered, The Hookup is handcrafted from eighteen parts (16 made of aluminum alloy + 2 rubber tips) and finished in precious metals, holding up to 15 kilos (33lbs) of weight. Its lightweight design allows for easy access, as it will hang elegantly from any handbag.
Creating a whole new way to solve the problem of how to safely store your purse when at a restaurant or in a bathroom, The Hookup was designed and engineered as a clever new fashionable solution using sixteen (16) aluminum-alloy parts. Because of its unique construction, The Hookup is obviously patented and patent pending internationally. The weight of The Hookup is 40 grams (1.4oz).
Aside from the molding process, almost everything else is handcrafted. The Hookup is hand polished with 3 wheels, and 3 different glues are used during the assembly process. Only 55% of the production units currently pass our quality control test - we hold the highest standards for The Hookup!
The 13 microns plated hooks are so beautifully designed, the heart-shaped piece can also be elegantly hung from any handbag for quick access when needed. With a simple twist, the heart can be transformed into a hook from which you can hang a handbag from a table, chair or almost anywhere! The thickness of the plating is high grade and durable for well over 10 years.
What are the available finishes of The Hookup?
The Hookup is available in 4 different finishes, so you can match them with the hardware of any handbag!
- GOLD 22K (The Hookup is plated with 22K gold)
- GOLD 14K (The Hookup is plated with 14K gold)
- PLATINUM (The Hookup is plated with white gold)

How is The Hookup packaged?
The Hookup is packaged in an elegant, white cardboard box that is handmade. A handmade pouch, made of microfiber, is also included - it is lined with silk and can be used to polish The Hookup to keep the heart shiny. And it can even be used also to polish the screen of a smartphone or a tablet!

Risks and challenges
Since we started to work on this project, The Hookup has been improved to be stronger, more user-friendly, and finally became a very secure and easy-to-use accessory for ladies.
Considering we have tested many prototypes within the last 7 years, we are confident the end result is the perfect product for customers.
However we still have to improve our production process as only 55% of the pre-production products passed the quality control test.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
