Welcome to a year of steampunk animals!
Thanks to you, we funded! If you missed out, I will have a limited number of calendars available online in my site KarenLuk.net in the next couple weeks. Bookmark this link or check back this Kickstarter's updates. Again, my gratitude to the backers!
Each month, different steampunk themed animals are featured along with the days and dates. Below are some of the paintings from the calendar.
Stretch goal #2 met! Everyone who has a physical pledge will receive a 5x7 inch print of a steampunk animal not in the calendar.
Stretch goal #1 met! Upgrade to paper stock - heavier interior pages and glossy cover. This means a higher quality product for everyone who backs a calendar.
Because it's a calendar for 2014, I am aiming to only print 100 of them - hence, it's a limited edition run. If more than 100 calendars are backed, then I will increase the print run to match accordingly. The calendar dimensions are 8.25 by 7.25 inches. Hung on a wall, the calendar is 8.25 by 14.5 inches opened.
The funding goal covers all of the printing costs for 100 calendars, rewards for this campaign, US domestic shipping via First Class Mail, and Kickstarter fees. I have a few stretch goals in mind, but let's reach this one first!
Stretch goal of $1200 met! - Upgrade to paper stock - heavier interior pages and glossy cover.
Stretch goal of $1500 met! Every physical pledge will receive a 5x7 inch print of a steampunk animal not in the calendar.
Last stretch goal of $2000 - Everyone pledging $12 and up will receive all of the calendar illustrations as wallpapers for their computers.
Why a steampunk animal calendar?
I was inspired by the positive responses to the watercolor sketches I did for my previous Kickstarter, Steampunk ABC. The combination of animals and a steampunk aesthetic makes for a fun and whimsical calendar to brighten up your wall. I hope you agree and support the project!
Thank you for your consideration!

Risks and challenges
I have the benefit of previously running a Kickstarter and backing projects, so I know what is expected.
I already have a printer lined up to accept my files. Proofing will take a couple days and then I should receive the calendars in about a week or so. While waiting for the proofs/printing, I will generate the needed prints and get ready for shipping.
I'm working with a stateside printer this time, so I don't expect problems on the printing end. The only issue I foresee is getting everything packed up for shipping on time, but spreadsheets will alleviate this.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
