Catober: like Inktober, but with Cats
Inspired by Jake Parker's desire to improve inking skills, October becomes Inktober wherein official prompts are shared and artists post their inked drawings everyday in October online. This year, I combined the official prompt list with cats to make it Catober instead. You can see all the cats I've drawn starting here on my Instagram.
Catober collects all 31 of my drawings from Inktober. The final size of the booklet is about 5.5 by 8.5 inches, saddle stitched, and 16 total pages in black and white. [Edited: booklet is now 6 by 9 inches due to making the stretch goal!] Below is the cover and an interior page - the orange border is to show the edges.
Each page features two cats and the inspired word. The interior 70# pages have a matte finish and cover is 10pt C1S, which means it's coated on the front side and heavier stock than the interior pages. If you wish, you can color in the cats. The PDF will include any new cat drawings from the Cat's Meow reward tier.
Stretch goal of $300 Achieved!
Booklet size is now 6 by 9 inches, includes expedited shipping from the printer (the faster to get the booklets to the backers), and an upgrade to thicker paper. Thank you, backers, for making it happen!
The funding goal covers the print run of 100, Kickstarter fees, and taxes. All the drawings are scanned in and the layout is done. I'm using a domestic printer, so the turnaround from the end of Kickstarter should be fairly quick - under two weeks. Just in time for holiday gifting the cat lover in your life, even if that's you!
Your support is the best part of making Catober a reality! (And, cats really, let's be honest.)
Thank you for considering the project.
Risks and challenges
This is my eighth Kickstarter, so I'm very familiar with getting projects completed and then delivering the rewards to my backers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
