Kali Kazoo's album is a year in the making. Part folk, part indie, part 60s pop, country inspired...
Thank you for coming to my Kickstarter for my debut album: Kali Kazoo- Outlaw Engineer Painted Pioneer.
Ever since I could remember I wanted to grow up to be a cartoonist musician. The cartoon part I figured out, but the music part of me has been relatively obscure until now. My father taught me to play guitar when I was nine years old and I have been writing songs ever since the first chord. Even then I figured if I played Bob Dylan songs and memorized Bjork lyrics they would sink into my subconscious. I have a wide range of influences from Patsy Cline to Devo, but I'm not sure if my music sounds anything like those to be honest. All I do know is that it is my dream to make music, and for people to enjoy it.
These funds will allow me to buy 500 LP color vinyl records, and 1000 standard cds. I figured if I would be putting out my first album I should go all the way!
Check out the first single "Clem" which I will hopefully be shooting a music video for in the coming month:
Here's a live video of me performing "Clem" in San Diego:
Special thanks to Zach Zdziebko, Eric Bauza and Mike Manasewitsch for helping me make my kickstarter video!

Luckily in this case, I have already done the big part of recording the album with Tommy Meehan, and it has already been mixed by Dameon Thompson. Also the amazing Rob Schrab sings with me on a song! All of this is already done!
At this point the only thing I have to deal with is making sure the album gets printed correctly, and making all the art for the rewards. I feel confident that in the time allotted I can do both of these things, hopefully without any bumps.
