THE FINAL PUSH - Thanks everyone for the support - we're down to the wire and we'd love to hit our stretch goals! Please share our campaign or check out our add ons. Every bit counts!
We started Pocono Modern back in 2009 as a creative escape from our day jobs. At first we just wanted to design and build cool mid-century inspired houses. When the houses were built, we started to think about cool mid-century stuff to put in the houses (like artwork and furniture). That led to us selling some of our products online through an ETSY shop that we set up. After that, we created an online shop through our web site and finally in 2013 we opened a physical shop in the historic town of Chester, NJ. From the beginning, we have 'bootstrapped' the whole operation paying for things as we could afford them and at times maxing out our credit cards to buy materials. Our products have been promoted through stores such as FAB.com and we have gotten some great press in Food Network Magazine (Dec '13), Atomic Ranch (summer '09), Elle Decor UK (Dec '13), and HGTV magazine (Jan/Feb '14). At this point, we would like to expand our line and would need some additional help to kick off some new projects, the most important of which is these playing cards. As we are dedicated to having all of our stuff made in the US, it often costs a bit more. These cards will be made by the US Playing Card Company and will be of the best quality possible.
We have always wanted to design a deck of cards from top to bottom, and we wanted one that could be enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Our card deck features all original illustrations from the mind of our own Joe Morelli and is unlike any other deck that you have seen. It is both retro and modern and invokes the spirit of a bygone era while being right at home in the present. We hope that you will enjoy them as much as we do and we truly appreciate any support that you can give to this project.

Risks and challenges
We have already been working with the US Playing Card Company to finalize costs and production times. We have already produced a test sheet and the project is ready to start. Our only risk is really putting the production as the mercy of the USPCC schedule. We have allotted an ample amount of time to fulfill the orders, but of course, we are at the mercy of the USPCC to deliver the goods. In terms of fulfillment, we have the staff and the organization to pack all the rewards as we currently handle over 2000 orders a year through our web site and ETSY shop.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
