Welcome to the world of Dark Legacy. The planet of Titan is at war and the Kaiser, an evil battle-mage, is bringing this world to its knees. Anything is possible here and anyone can become a legend. This is where your journey begins.

Dark Legacy is a project that has the ability to give something to everyone. Instead of dividing the RPGers and the Card Gamers; this game has the ability to bring them both together in one game and keep them engaged with the story and possibilities of their own character's growth. Dark Legacy is a game that is easy to pick up and yet complicated enough through strategy to keep even the most experienced player entertained. It is my goal, with you help, to get this in the hands of hundreds of gamers so they can experience a different kind of gaming all together.
My Kickstarter goal is only set at $7,000 and this covers the minimum of costs to finish the art, edit, print and ship the game. The total of the funding goal is comprised of 10% Kickstarter fees and Amazon fees, 70% printing cost, 0% artist, layout, editing and development costs (since I am doing the majority of this myself), 10% promotional costs and 10% shipping costs. Should I be blessed enough to raise beyond the $7,000 target several things will happen:
I have six pre-determined stretch goal rewards to give to everyone if we reach the goal. Everyone who pledges $15 or more will be included in the stretch goal rewards. We will have to reach the goal before they get unlocked and you find out what the reward will be.
About the game
Dark Legacy is a unique strategy game that mixes the best elements of Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons and Chess and wraps them all up into a in-depth sci-fi/fantasy story. In Dark Legacy, players are no longer bystanders of the battle, they get to be part of it as a war general within one of six different factions. With the unique and various weapons, armor and relics, that a player can equip themselves with, players can become whomever they imagine themselves to be.
In Dark Legacy, it is the players objective to destroy their opponents and their armies, by building a deck of magic spells that no one can withstand, rolling the d20 in their favor and strategically summoning their army to be the strongest. Just like in real battle you will have to anticipate the probability of the unexpected. Don't make choices too hastily for they may be the demise of your army and yourself.
Dark Legacy is a game that can be played one-on-one or in team battle, ages 10 and up, with an average play time of about 45 minutes.
Without Kickstarter backers, I wouldn't be able to produce this quality trading card game for the hobby market. To show my appreciation to those of you who are taking a chance on me, I promise that all games, PDFs and prints will be in the hands of backers before any copy will be available to others, whether it be through retailers, conventions or in my online store at dark-legacy.net. Here are the type of cards that can be played in Dark Legacy
Enhancement cards are for summoned creatures, weapons and the Hero. These cards can either strengthen or weaken that which it is place upon.
Creature cards are just that. They are the faction specific cards that each one of the six different factions use to strengthen their army to win the battle.
Magic cards are the spell cards used to tip the balance in battle. There are faction specific magic cards and general magic cards.
Armor cards are only for the Heroes in battle. This gives each Hero extra defense points on top of their life points.
Weapon cards are only for the Heroes in battle. There is a wide variety of weapon cards and as the Hero levels up there are stronger and more magical weapons that become available to them.
Relic cards are ancient cards with abilities that are available to every player if you find them. There are relics that will fit every players style of fighting.
Here is the playing mat, where all of the play is going to happen. I would like to break this down so that you can have a better understand of how and where things are going to be played.
This is the Hero field. This is where all the Hero enhancement cards will go.
This is the Hero equip section. This is where you will be able to place your primary and secondary weapons and armor as well as relics if you choose to do that.
This is the playing field. This is where you will be able to play all of the cards, such as creatures, relics, magic, instants and enhancements. You are allowed to stack cards of the same type. So if you have played a ninja card, you can place another ninja card on top of the other so that you don't have to use up another field to cast that card.
This is the instant field. This field is important as it acts as a regular playing slot but if this field is covered by any card you will not be able to play instants until that card has been removed from the instant field.
This is the charging field. Since the cards are all skill based there are going to be cards that are outside of your skill level. You can still play them by placing them face down on the charging field and waiting the difference of the skill level that you have and the skill level that it costs to cast the card. So if you are a level 3 and you want to cast a level 5 card you will have to wait 2 turns before you can cast it. You have to have space open in the playing field section and you can only do this with one card at a time.
