Kaio Interactive was formed out of
the determination of its founder to establish a game development studio to
produce great games with engaging stories. Specifically great games that
would appeal to all ages. A major element of any great game is having the
great story to go with it, in securing the license for games based on the award
winning books by the Miller Brothers (Chris & Allan) Kaio now hold the keys to
a fantastic realm of allegorical story telling, which appeals to both
young and old alike.
In association with Lance Priebe one of the original founders of Club Penguin, we're bringing these great stories to the game-playing world.

If you've not read about Hunter Brown and his friends in the Codebearers Series, you've missed out, but we won't hold it against you. Here's a brief introduction from the first book "Hunter Brown and the Secret of the Shadow" (Other books in the series are "Hunter Brown and the Consuming Fire" & "Hunter Brown and the Eye of Ends").
"Strange visions, hideous monsters, Startling revelations. Hunter brown never expected a summer like this, and it's only getting started! After one of his infamous pranks backfires, Hunter unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient book and key. Little does he know the mysterious book is a gateway to Solandria, a Supernatual realm held captive by the Shadow.
In Solandria, Hunter joins foces with the Codebearers, aband of highly trained warriors who form the Resistance to the Shador. But before he can complete his training in the ways of the Code of Life, Hunter is sent on a mission far more dangerous than he ever bargained for. Now with his life in peril and the future os Solandria hanging in the balance, Hunter is headed for a showdown with the Shadow and a battle to save his soul from a fate worse than death!"
Thus begins the first book in 'The Codebearers Series" but that was then, and this is now. Codebearers Continuum picks up after the third book in the series, so we now fast forward to the time in Solandria when the game takes place....
“It is a new age for Solandria. The roots of the Sacred Tree are uniting more shards with each passing day, ever growing and expanding across the expanse of the Void.
The Shadow have seemingly disappeared, driven into hiding from their most recent defeat. Under the guidance of newly appointed Commander Philan, the Resistance has grown into the Restoration. It’s banner, the Living Tree, has become a symbol of hope and prosperity.
As Scouts of the Council, Hunter Brown and Hope have been commissioned to traverse the roots of the tree in search of lost shards and forgotten Shadow strongholds. It is a time of exploration and renewed hope. But even in times of peace, there is danger at every turn…”
Which platforms ?
Ah the important question...
Codebearers Continuum will be available for PC & Mac as well a version aimed at mobile devices such as the more recent iOS devices and also Android tablets such as the Galaxy Tab.
In addition to these which we are already licensed and able to publish to we are exploring the possibility of launching on the Nintendo Wii as well as the Xbox 360.
Where Does the money go ?
Oh yes, the donations.
Before we can publish to either the Wii or Xbox we have to finish the game, to do this we need your help & support. The money raised will go towards the normal costs associated with bringing such a great piece of fiction to the game playing world things such as...
Once we've got those taken care of, anything left over will go in the console kitty to get us on the road to getting onto the Wiiware & XBLA Stores.
And of course, if you want to blog about the project or promote us in any way fitting for the kind of game this will be then let us know, we're even open to interviews and feature articles.
It wouldn't be a Kickstarter project without them, and it would be plain wrong of us not to show our appreciation of your help. So heres a quick example of some of the goodies we've managed to come up with to say thank you.
- Your name in lights on our Special thanks section of the credits.

Important note for people reading this in the UK & elsewhere....
Unfortunately Kickstarter doesn't allow for sponsors from outside the US & Canada at present due to the payment mechanism they use. However we would still like to invite you to contact us directly (either via here or our website www.ki-games.com or email at firstname.lastname@example.org ) and any overseas pledges would still be honors as regards to the rewards etc as laid out above.
