This is my first full length CD.. and it's about time! I've been making a CD almost every year since 2007, but now that I am a solo artist; it is time that I do it on my own- well, almost on my own. I'm on a mission to turn "Do it yourself" into "Do it with YOU".
I'm asking for your help to get these 10 tunes recorded, and I've created some really fun incentives that you could choose from in order to make this project a success! I aim to please!!
I've already recorded two songs off of the CD. Here they are, to give you a taste! They're also for download, as an incentive over there ----->
In case you don't know me, please let me introduce you to the weekly covers I've been doing on my Youtube.
I'll tackle anything that is voted for on my facebook page's weekly poll. Anything from Macklemore's "Thrift Shop"..
to Hall & Oates "Rich Girl"...
Or maybe you want to see my old band, Black Kettle.
I've got the songs, I've got the team, I just need the funds to do it! This has been a long time coming, and I am so excited to share with you all the hard work I've put in while writing this.
I am aiming to raise a part of the money that I will need to make this album. All costs considered, it will be far greater than $1,500 but right now I need some assistance to get me there! I've done everything on my own thus far, but I just need a little help from my friends!
The money I raise will go towards paying for the engineering, studio costs, musicians who will be playing on the album, mixing, and mastering. So far I've had the incredible time of working with Eric Holden on bass (The Weepies, Colbie Caillat, The Bloody Lovelies, Vertical Horizon, Josh Groban) and Charlie Paxson on drums (Colin Hay, The Format, James Blunt, Meiko) and Producer/Engineer Will Kennedy. Any money raised above $1,500 will go towards further footing my recordings costs, which will likely be closer to $9,000- still a tight ship to be running in terms of recording 10 songs. I anticipate tracking to take place sometime in June ideally, and for the album to be finished by September although those are guestimates (its a word, I SWEAR!) With all of the updates and social networking sites that I live on, I know that you, as backers, will NEVER be out of the loop as to what I am doing with the money I receive.
At the end of this process there will be a big CD release party here in LA and then some awesome Stageit shows for everyone who can't come to LA! It'll be a great time, you can wear you're underwear and I will clean my room. After that, tours and tours and band fun and tours and music videos and tours and more and then I'll do it all again!
I've spent a lot of late nights, Friday nights, and wee hours writing this. I know you're going to love it. Sometimes making an album can make you feel like this guy:
but I know with your help I won't be doing this alone!

Risks and challenges
I've made all my incentives things that I can definitely handle! It'll take time of course but nothing will go unfulfilled!
I'm very confident that no contributor will go unnoticed. From my weekly video releases, I try incredibly hard to thank everyone who shared my video on their social network and if I miss someone.. extra thanks is in store the next week for my mistake. I am SO grateful for everyone who believes in my music, I know that whatever comes up we can work out through some good ol' fashion discussion.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
