Thank you for taking the time to check out my project! I'll try to keep my intro brief: My name is Lindsey Kahn, and when I'm not riding my horses or wrangling my various bizarre pets, I'm drawing. Or attempting to draw. Or planning out drawings that I'd love to do in the future.
My art is comprised of mainly pen and ink drawings in an Art nouveau-inspired style, and I've been told many times that it would be perfect for a coloring book. Now, I rarely care to color my own drawings, but I admire the creativity of those who do love to color. The recent popularity of adult coloring books amazes and inspires me - what an awesome pastime, and such a fun way for everyone to create their own masterpieces! While I've designed many coloring sheets for friends and clients over the years, I've only recently considered creating and publishing a legit, for-really-real coloring book for the masses (or at least for my snarky, black-humored loved ones). After many hours of consideration, I decided to make that goal a reality!
My love of animals is at the heart for my work. Throw in a goofy sense of humor, a psychology degree, and an affinity for the macabre, and you have my inspiration for Sinful: a Coloring Book of the Seven Deadly Sins. Rather than glorifying vices such as envy, wrath, and lust, I wish to illustrate them in an intricate and distinct fashion, devoid of moral judgment but full of scientific facts and sarcasm.
Each sin will be the theme of three pages in the book (for a total of 21 images), with each page depicting a creature that personifies (or is that "animalifies"?) the sin. For instance, my popular "Rama Llama Ding Dong" drawing (better known as the "Judgmental Llama") is a great example of Pride. Just look at him. That haughty expression. That perfectly-arranged garland. The sense that you are not worthy of his noble ungulate attention.
My idea is simple in theory: draw (at least) 21 original images with a unifying theme, and publish them together in a coloring book for everyone to enjoy. That's cool. I love to draw, and winter is the perfect time for me to hunker down with my Micron pens and visions of wrathful Betta Fish dancing in my head. Your generous pledge will help me cover the initial costs of self-publishing this coloring book - and who knows? This may be the start of a new path in my business (whoops, better not get greedy)!
Sinful: a Coloring Book of the Seven Deadly Sins will be an 8.5"x11" book in two formats. The paperback version will be coilbound so it can be opened flat for easy coloring. There will be one illustration per sheet of paper, so pigment won't ruin another page if it soaks through. The hardcover version will have a gorgeous black linen cover with gold text.
Whether you enjoy the therapeutic benefits of coloring or just like to make things look pretty (or badass), this book will indulge your creative gluttony.
Again, thank you for checking out my campaign! Even if you cannot pledge, please share this project with your friends to help spread the word. Your support means the world to me. Happy Holidays, and have a Happy New Year!

Risks and challenges
This is my first time taking on a project of this magnitude, and the main challenge will be managing my time so I can have the images ready to format and publish in a reasonable time frame. I will be moving across the country at the end of January, so that will likely put a pause on my art. Once I have a game plan and give myself goals, tasks, and deadlines, I am very good at sticking to the plan.
I'm committed to creating a high-quality product for you to enjoy. I will keep everyone updated on my progress and will distribute rewards as soon as they're ready. If for any reason the project is delayed, you will be notified immediately.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
