Creating a unique and raw collection taking raw machinery parts and turning it into beautiful jewelry for a Runway Showcase. Read more
This project's funding goal was not reached on July 9, 2012.
About this project
The goal of this project is to create a Raw and One of a Kind collection, utilizing machine parts, as well as the odd and unusual. I want to incorporate elements that are filled with rust, dirt and grime, cleaned up of course, so they don't mess up your clothing.
The vision for this line came out of my last collection, which was filled with high elegance and recreating of jewelry. Almost every piece in the collection included donated jewelry from friends.
What I'm Planning
The funds will go into purchasing supplies for the line, as well as paying for the time and services provided by the Models, Stylists [Both Makeup and Hair], Photographers, and to mix the music for the runway.
Supplies Needed: Vintage Clocks, Watches and Cameras, both parts and whole. Old Cell Phones and anything with moving parts that can be used to turn into new jewelry. Jewelry to reclaim, be it vintage or modern. Standard jewelry supplies, jump rings, chain, hat pins and a variety of beads of various styles, shapes and sizes.
The showcase will take place September 27th, 2012, [From 8:00PM - 12:00AM] at The Vault [120 N. Wall Street, Spokane] through RAW Artists. The nation wide organization works to help the 'starving' artists be seen and showcased. At the end of the year each of the currently 64 cities, votes for the best in each category. The winners are sent to Los Angeles to compete against each other to win several amazing prizes.
Regardless of if I win even the city, each showcase gets the name out there and creates a buzz about what it is I make and create. Going to Los Angeles would be an amazing treat, and once again even if I didn't win, my line would be seen by industry leaders.
Thank-YOU so much for your support, pledges, and generosity! Please share with your friends and help spread the word! If you have any questions about the rewards, want to see more pictures, or just want to say hi, feel free to email me at VintageFusion.KCarey@gmail.com
