Update #23

Finally! Mobile spectrometers parts are all here!

Backers!

Yesterday evening, UPS finally arrived at our front door with all the molded spectrometers! All the parts are now here, and we're working to get everything assembled ASAP.

The molders ran over the timeline they set, but while we were waiting we went to work integrating ongoing research on collimation slits into the Backpack spectrometer. With this new slit I've been delighted with spectrometer's ability to pick up clear spectra even at distance.

I can't wait to get these all shipped out to you!

@Paul - the "experimental backpack" backers ($65) will all get one. But we will also begin stocking these in the store at http://store.publiclab.org shortly afterwards.

It will work with all iPhones and Android devices, although in live mode only on Android (Chrome & Opera) for now, and on iOS devices in upload mode.

      Thanks everyone!

Will this work with the iPhone 5s?

      Hi,
Please forgive me my ignorance, I've been out of the loop lately. Which backers get one of these?

This completely egregious "steampunk" spectrometer is made from polished aluminum, brass, and finely finished, laser engraved wood. It's functionally identical to the "countertop" model, but has enough polish to make Isambard Kingdom Brunel proud. Don't back this unless you are a) feeling sooo rad or b) trying to support the Public Lab nonprofit.
