This gothic, psychological tale of Victorian revenge is the story of a young call girl named Blue, drawn to Brighton - compelled to find out the truth behind her family history. Discovering a hidden chamber within a Regency house whilst with a client, a terrifying supernatural force is unleashed, skewing her reality and making nothing quite what it seems. Please help us take our second feature film THE SLEEPING ROOM into cinemas, to give it the exposure needed to connect with UK audiences.
To raise awareness of a film in advance of its release, major feature films typically spend 5x their production budget on the P&A SPEND (print and advertising) and marketing of their films.
As Producers, we want to retain control of the marketing and promotion of our film, to ensure that it has every opportunity to connect and engage with its audience. So many people have worked so hard to create and deliver this film, and we now want the widest possible audience to see it.
Building a films audience without megabucks to spend on advertising means an investment of time and effort and a healthy amount of ingenuity and resourcefulness.
We have a distributor ready and willing to take the film out on DVD and VOD in the UK and the US in early 2015. Now we’d like to raise the films profile further, and build its following to make sure that our release is a success.
We’d love people to show THE SLEEPING ROOM on the big screen at film festivals, private screenings and even a limited theatrical run at selected cinema sites. And we’d love to have you along to our Cast & Crew screening later this year.
Of course, all of this costs money and most simply put - the more we can raise on Kickstarter, the more effective our efforts to sell the film will be!
USE OF FUNDS
• Official poster and trailer – the most essential sales element of any movie
• Online PR and marketing
• Physical deliverables: Film files, tapes, BBFC certification and paperwork
• Limited cinema run – see the film as intended – on the big screen!
• UK independent cinema Q&A tour, producer, director & some cast
• Film festival submissions / attendance
WHO ARE WE?
Movie Mogul are an independent production company based in Cardiff, UK. Our first feature film PANIC BUTTON sold to 16 territories worldwide, enjoyed a lengthy run on Sky Box Office and was nominated for a Welsh BAFTA.
We also run national talent search competition SHORTCUTS TO HELL with Horror Channel, FrightFest, Wildseed Studios and TheHorrorShow.TV which is now in its second year.
Our third feature we hope will be sci-fi action movie WE ARE MONSTERS, which is in development and has previously featured on Kickstarter.
Risks and challenges
All monies raised through Kickstarter will go directly into the marketing campaign for the film, helmed by its producers and select partners in the worlds of social media, PR, design, film marketing, cinema booking and film education.
Our marketing campaign will begin right away, but due to the number of variable forces at play outside of our control, we cannot guarantee an exact release date for the film at this moment in time. We are aiming for January 2015 in conjunction with a UK/US distributor, although we are aware that this may slide slightly towards Spring 2015 in the worst-case scenario.
We will of course update all backers as to sales progress and release dates.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
