Month End Summary #4: July 2017
Good morning, everyone! Yet another month has gone by, and it’s time for the July 2017 Month End Summary. July was our most productive month yet! Though, not without its hurdles. As of right now, the Month-End Summary downloads are available via the Digital Distribution Tool for all digital-level backers. We had a huge month which resulted in the summary downloads hitting around 5 GB of data.
This month I’ve released 46 new maps at a rate of at least one map-per-day. The first half of the month I doubled-up (sometimes tripled-up) on daily map releases. I wasn’t sure we would be able to outpace last month’s fantastic map release schedule (36 maps in June), but we did!
Summary Report –
As of this morning, the project stats are as follows:
• 118 Maps Released
• 124 Days Ahead of Release Schedule
• The Entire Project is 60.51% complete
This month’s releases wrapped up the “Tavern & Storefronts” series of maps, and with an additional mega-dungeon release this month, we’re getting closer to completing those two-page spread maps for the Underworld as well!
Custom Maps –
E-mails were sent out to all custom map backers requesting details about their desired maps. Of a total of 26, I’ve heard back from 17 folks. Which means there are nine custom map backers out there who either haven’t had a chance to reply or didn’t get the e-mail for some reason.
If you’re one of those nine custom map backers, please send me a message and let me know what’s up. If you need more time, that’s absolutely fine, but I want to make sure everyone received the e-mail (which included your unique commission ID Number).
Map Icon Sets –
To be able to maintain the map-heavy workload early on in the month, I made the decision to focus on map icons at the end of the month. As you can probably tell by our single map icon set release this month, things didn’t quite go according to plan there!
The fact is: I did create well over 100 icons in July, but not enough of any individual theme to release a set. During the last two weeks of the month I was waylaid with very heavy workloads from several publishers that I freelance for, and simply put – I literally ran out of hours in July.
August will see the completion of those pending icons, so you can expect an influx in icon set releases throughout the month as I get caught up on the work which was intended for the end of July.
Since there is only one map icon set for July, there is no map icon archive included in the Month End Downloads. I will roll it over into the archive for August.
Other News –
I won’t cover the recent updates to the Digital Distribution Tool in this update as I already discussed them earlier this month in the 1st Quart Project Report sent out on July 17th. If you overlooked that update, be sure to check it out!
The plan for the coming month is to keep the pace. I’m not sure we’ll beat these numbers in August, but we’ll give it a shot!
Here’s a quick look at what was released via the Digital Distribution Tool in July 2017:
In Conclusion –
July was a great month! The project is over 60% complete and over 4-months ahead of schedule. August promises to be yet another productive month. Once GEN CON starts on the 17th of August, the frequency of requests I’m getting from publishers will diminish to near nothing. I’m hoping to really focus on turning the volume up on releases during that week.
Thanks again for your support. You all are awesome!
Have a great week!
