The Jump! Mag Plus Subscription gives access to the entire family, rather than you paying per child. Each family member will have their own log-in, where they can save favourite articles and follow specific writers and topics.
On the Kids' section, we will offer exclusive content not published on the main site, access to the full archives for homework assistance, short stories, games and competitions, school, career and personal advice.
The site will be fully indexed so that kids can search for information on a specific topic, but will not be split into subject areas. This is to encourage children to go beyond the comfort zone of their favourite subjects, eg a child who loves history but dislikes science would read an article on archaeology and dating artefacts, without being scared off by the 'science' label.
All articles are written in a child-friendly manner, non-patronising, and no 'dumbing down'. We use real words, not txt speak, and leave the usage of LOL and OMG to the kids, if they want to use them on the articles they sumbit to Written By You. (Most of them don't!)
We will be working with various organisations to raise awareness of issues concerning children around the world, and to promote STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths - particularly for girls.
Our 6-part Interactive Adventure Stories, will be posted on the open access homepage, for everyone to read. Our readers vote every week to tell Kit what to do next. Jump! Mag Plus Subscribers can access the entire 64 chapters, and reread again and again with differing outcomes. The accompanying Educational Resources are suitable for schools, home-educators and individual learners, e.g. for kids who are studying for school entrance exams.
In the future, we aim to introduce resources for learning English as a foreign language, which will be suitable for non-native speakers and 'third culture kids'.
In the Parent and Educator section, you will find articles on child-rearing and education, advice and reviews.
Jump! Mag does not have a forum or chat area, but readers can comment on articles. All comments are moderated, so if kids share too much personal information, or receive an abusive comment, we can step in, and contact the parents.

The Jump! Mag website requires substantial redevelopment in order to put the ideas that we have into practice, eg the creation of a subscription area and integration of external content (such as videos and games) on the home page.
We will use the money to employ staff members to write content, and man our social media channels, and compensate our regular contributors for the articles they provide. Some content will be sourced elsewhere, but will be re-written and adapted to make it suitable for our audience.
Jump! Mag began when founder Lynn Schreiber searched for a comic or magazine for her preteen daughter. She looked for a fun magazine that was informative and educational with a positive message for girls. When she couldn't find a magazine that fit the bill, she started Jump! Mag for Girls, with the help of some enthusiastic friends.
Over the past two years, we've featured a range of articles from archaeology to being more zen. As time went on, we received ever more requests from parents of boys to open up the magazine for their sons.
Jump! Mag is now gender-neutral, although it remains 'girl-positive'. We work to promote self-confidence and body image, concentrating on being healthy, rather than being 'pretty'.

A freelance writer and social media consultant, who has lived and worked in several European countries. She currently lives in Scotland with her husband, two children and impossibly spoiled dog.
Game Designer - Emily Thomforde
Emily is a BAFTA-award winning games designer, who has worked with us to create the first of many Jump! Mag games featuring Kit, our intrepid adventurer. Emily lives in California, USA.
Comic Makers - Alice Nuttal and Emily Brady
Emily and Alice have been drawing and writing together since pre-school. Today they make comics, as well as working as a professional illustrator (Emily) and writing short stories and novels (Alice) and drinking large amounts of chai (both of them)
Teacher and Writer - Grainne Hallahan
Creator of the Kit Jackson stories, Grainne is an experienced teacher with an fertile imagination and an adventurous spirit - basically she IS Kit! She lives and teaches in London with her young family. Grainne also coordinated the international school story writing project Send a Story on Jump! Mag.
Social Media Volunteer - Rebecca Dodds
Originally from South Africa, currently in London, Rebecca is an online content creator and writer.
Editorial Assistant Volunteer - Annie-May Gibbs
On the other side of the world from Jump! Mag HQ, Annie-May is currently in New Zealand where she works as a Educator in Rape Prevention Education.
Over the past two years, dozens of writers have contributed on a voluntary basis. We will continue to work with them in the future.

Risks and challenges
The time-frame for product completion is estimated to be early October 2014. Our website designers have promised a build-time of around 8 weeks, but there remains a small risk of delays. We will work with the website designers to complete the design process swiftly.
Jump! Mag is run by a small team of dedicated individuals, and there is a risk of change in personal circumstances causing delays.
