We can accomplish great things if we collaborate with others...
I propose we make a conscious choice to shift the way we view our lives. A shift from negative, fear-based thinking to a positive, opportunity-based attitude.
JUMP FOR JOY
Hello! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Eyoälha. I am inspired by passionate, creative, adventurous people who follow their hearts to create a more positive, joyful world for all.
I capture the beauty of the human spirit in mid-air through the simple act of taking photographs of people jumping for joy.
How we focus our attention has great impact, not only on our own lives, but also the lives of those around us. My focus is on creating fun and joyful experiences through photography.
WHY JUMPING? Jumping is a natural physical response to celebrating, excitement and passion for life. Jumping is fun, feels good, puts a smile on your face and is even good for your health!
“Eyoälha has perfectly captured the effervescence of the human spirit with her jump campaign. The sheer joy, combined with display of athletic power lends an aura of power and sovereignty to her subjects. One could not ask for more.” – Joseph Pallant, Vancouver
THE MURALITY CONNECTION
Recently, I had the great pleasure of taking jumping photos with the lovely Amalia Liapis, creator of Murality. Murality is a not-for-profit organization based in Vancouver, BC with a mandate to enhance the lives of people and transform neighbourhoods through the creation of beautiful public art murals.
Inspired by one another, Amalia and I decided to combine our respective projects. I will create a huge outdoor public art mural in Vancouver's Downtown EastSide, showcasing 100+ people jumping for joy around the beautiful city of Vancouver. The photo collage will be displayed in the heart of Vancouver's historic Chinatown on a 9000 sq. ft. wall at 161 East Pender Street.
DON'T LIVE IN VANCOUVER? Not to worry, follow us online through the entire project, and it will be in the Jump for Joy Photo book!
This art project will transform an otherwise dreary alleyway into an inspired art space for the public to enjoy.
I’ve set my target at $5,000 to complete this epic Jump for Joy, outdoor community photo wall mural.
Large-scale photo printing, adhesive materials, buckets/brushes, various tools and materials to assemble images, a lift and lift-operator, pressure washer, ladders and other photography costs such as editing software, hard drive, gifts and Kickstarter fees.
This project will only receive the funds if we reach our target of $5000 or more. If the target is not met, we don't get any of the money.
DREAM WISH GOAL
Above and beyond the target goal - Ideally, I will raise enough funds to cover not only to costs to create the mural, but also to cover expenses associated with finishing the Jump for Joy Photo Book :)
PLEASE SHARE THE JOY!
PLEASE STOP BY
When its done, take a look at the finished mural - do a jumping photo in front of the wall. I might see you there and take the photo myself!
Like! Share! Post! - please share the joy!
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
For the past 2 years I've been creating a photo book that aims to capture 1000 people Jumping for Joy around the world. I share some of my favourite Jump for Joy images along with uplifting quotes on my daily blog: www.jumpforjoyphotoproject.com and weekly newsletter feature.
This project was initially inspired during a challenging time in my life. I wasn't enjoying my work. I experienced a difficult break-up that left me feeling disoriented, lost, and disconnected from what was important to me.
I decided to turn a difficult time into an opportunity. I sold my business, my car, most of my belongings, packed a couple of bags and set out on a journey - with camera in hand, and the desire to bring joy back into my life.
I sat down and made a long list of all the things that inspire me, make me feel happy, alive, creative and passionate about life. That list became the basis for Jump for Joy Photo project.
"She is a burst of positivity, joy and truly embodies the spirit of her project: Jump for Joy. She is travelling around the globe capturing the joy of the human spirit while in mid air jumps. It’s pretty incredible first off that she is doing this project. Her desire to capture joy in the human spirit, calls joy forth in people. We love that she is the clearing for this type of positive joyful self expression and this is why we have chosen her today... http://wp.me/p3Fg4i-y4" - Kelsey Grant
"In one word, JOYFUL. The simple act of moving your body in a jumping fashion has so many physiological benefits,… circulation, respiration, cardio exercise, oxygenation. The physical benefits are awesome. But even more meaningful is the domino effect that jumping with joy has on others. During our jumping session, I noticed that people looking on were smiling and even a few got in on the action and started taking their own jumping photos too. It’s contagious." - Jessica Corbin, California
"Wow. Your energy and love for life is inspiring. Reading this most definitely positively affected my day :). All the philosophical and existential themes that excite me all come back to a focus on the moment. The fleeting fraction of time that separates our continuous reality from our memory. And your blog is pursuing one of the best moments. The feeling when you are so happy that the only thing to do with the energy is jump. Jump for joy; jump for life. Jump to remember the beauty of the world. Continue what you’re doing, because you are making an impact in the world!" - Josh (comment from blog)

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge will be raising the funds to create this fabulously fun vision into a reality.
The other possible challenge may be getting all the gifts out in a timely manner. Please be patient, I will do my best :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
