Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I back your project now, instead of waiting to see if it’s any good and buying it after it’s released?
Without backers, there actually won’t be a game to wait and see about. This campaign is my one and only means of publishing Wizard Thieves, and the game will only ever exist if the project is successful. Furthermore, with your support this game is going to be a lot better than it would be otherwise. Your feedback is important to me and to the improvement of the game, and I trust that there are going to be some seriously cool things added to it throughout the campaign.Last updated:
The fine folks over at InkPlay Games, my manufacturer for the project, have graciously agreed to handle all individual shipments of Wizard Thieves directly from their factory. In order to avoid customs and VAT charges, they currently only ship small card games, and because they ship from Taiwan rather than China, getting the game into the USA will not be a problem either.
InkPlay has previously shipped small card games all over the world by air mail, and have assured me that shipping Wizard Thieves through them will not result in any unexpected cost to my backers.
That said, I understand the possibility that Inkplay may not be familiar with customs regulations in every country on the planet, and that some of you might live in countries with unusually strict regulations.
If you have any questions or concerns about shipping to you country, please don't hesitate to message me about it. I will work with my manufacturer to further investigate, and to try and make sure any potential customs/VAT charges are covered for you on our end. We want to get Wizard Thieves to you for exactly $20 CAD and no more!Last updated:
I will not be using a third party pledge manager for this project. All your information will be collected via Kickstarter’s backer survey system once the campaign is over. The reward levels have also been broken up so that it will be easy for me to tell what, if anything, you wanted in addition to your selected reward, and any further information required will be collected through the backer survey.Last updated:
I think it's safe to say that most Kickstarter creators in the Tabletop sector are either trying to start a publishing company, or are already running one. As for me, I'm not in it to start a business, or even to develop ongoing sales for my game. I've just always been interested in Kickstarter, I've made a game that a lot of people seem enjoy a whole lot, and I thought it might be a fun and interesting experience to run a campaign for it. That's really the main reason I put all of this together instead of taking Wizard Thieves to a publisher, and so far it's been wonderful!
That said, after I deliver this game to everyone, it'll be time to move on to the next adventure. I've got other game designs I'd like to work on, places I'd like to go, and things I'd like to see! There won't be time to continue trying to get more funding for more manufacturing runs of the game, and I can't say whether or not I'd be able to get a publisher interested, because honestly, I've never tried. I've always focused 100% on making Wizard Thieves into a great Kickstarter product, and my only goal here is to bring that great product to everyone who's helped me run this campaign, and have this awesome experience. :)Last updated:
Absolutely! When the backer survey goes out, I'll be giving local backers the option to either pick their copy of Wizard Thieves up at a specified time and place, or even have it dropped off by me personally. I'll also be making as much time as possible to get together with folks and teach them how to play their new game!Last updated:
