This show will be a student run, D.I.Y. piece of theater. I have gotten the amateur rights to the show, I have rented the performance space, and we are already into rehearsals. Now we need to fund it all. Through ticket sells we can expect to make enough money to pay the $100 for the rights to the show, and rental costs for the theater. This is for everything else. We need to rent portable bleachers, get secondary school uniforms, buy all the props and set pieces, and fund all the unexpected costs along the way (glitter and bubble gum for example). Since this is an entirely student run production we are working with almost no budget. Everything is lined up and ready to go, all we need now are the funds.
Risks and challenges
The biggest hurtle is making sure we are ready to go by the performance date (December 16). We are on the right track right now to make that happen as far as performance goes, all that we need to worry about is making sure all the props, costumes, and set pieces are rented/bought. The next challenge will be the day of the performance. We load into the space for the first time that morning and tech all day then we perform that night.
