@Everyone We've set up a dedicated email address kickstarter@joto.rocks for all our backers to contact us on, in case you prefer to reach us by email rather than on Kickstarter.

We will continue to respond to comments and messages here, of course!

    2. Those Creador May 16

@Per - Great! Glad it was helpful. If you'd like to change the colour, the best thing to do is to message us using Kickstarter messages. But don't worry, on this occasion, we can make a note of changing to black on your Backer order, based on your comment. Thanks.

    3. Per May 16

Thank you for sharing the color renderings, super helpful! I'd like to change my color choice to black, but couldn't figure out how to message you other than via these comments. Is there another preferred way for us to message you, should we use emailus@madebythose.com or something else?

    4. Those Creador May 16

@Max B - The colour choice should not affect your delivery date. We will be making them in batches, but we will have much larger batches by the time we ship, so they will be shipped at the same time.

@Linda Gordon - Absolutely, no problem to change one of the colours of your Jotos. It can't be changed in the Kickstarter survey itself, so if you send us a message, we will update your order. Any questions, let us know!

Can we change one of the colors of the joto after completing the survey?

@Onur Bayrak @Per @Max B. - We've just posted a project update with the latest colour renders. Hope it helps!

@kokobin - Glad you like the Joto blue, we like it too :)

@Daniel Ng - we've added a few pointers about the survey in our latest update

@Peter Hassard - thanks for your tips

I can't really submit the survey without at least renders of the colors other than black. It would also be good to know in which way a color choice affects delivery date.

    9. Per May 14

@Peter Sorry, what I mean is pictures of Joto with the different colored frames. Not just a square of the color and the name of it as in the update, I already saw that and deem it insufficient to make an informed decision. Are there any such photos you can share with the backers?

@Daniel the survey is done using kickstarter. You can see it as a tab option if you click "view my pledge" or "manage my pledge".

You might have some problems accessing it.

Unfortunately it doesn't always display using the mobile app. You may have to try a desktop version or maybe try your browser on your phone instead of the app.

      Hope that helps.
If not give Joto a message on here or Twitter or Facebook @JotoRocks :)

    12. Daniel Ng May 12

I can't seem to fill your newest survey because I keep being directed to Kickstarter. Please help!

      Peter Pakovics May 11

@Per - You can see them in the last project update.

    14. Per May 10

Where can we view photos of the 4 different frame colors? The campaign update only names them but not fair to ask us to make a selection in the survey without seeing at least a rendering of how it would look in other colors than black. Unless it's a strategy to have most people select black, if so well done.

Love the video guys - in fact your whole campaign so far has been very impressive, fun, funny and a delight to witness. Love the input of the different artists and creatives. One day every house will have one.....two.....or more

@creators - how are the color surveys coming? Any idea when you may announce the winning colors and when the end of campaign emails for selection will be made?

It would also be nice to get an update as to where the Joto is and how the project is going.

    20. Those Creador April 24

@Gareth Ingram As Peter mentioned we sent it as a direct message to all those who pledged for a Joto. We've just sent you the link in an email, in case that's better. Let us know if you have any problems.

@Peter Hassard Thanks for your helpful pointers.

    21. Falta avatar

      Peter Hassard April 23

It won't be sent as an email. (Unless you get emails as a notification)

Joto sent all pledges the message directly. You may have to log on to a desktop version of kickstarter if you can't get it on your phone.
You'll then be able to find it under a tab listed below your profile settings in "messages". Or go to the manage pledges section (there's a few ways to get there, keep looking.) Deadline is 7th May.

I fear posting the direct link on here. It may get spammed/trolled so have a look yourself please :).

If possible, please design this first run where we can upgrade it later to a rotating pen holder for wide tip pens so we can have varying line width (pen tip vertical on surface moved vertically = narrow line: Pen tip vertical on surface moved horizontally = wide line: Rotating pen tip through a curve = consistent line for a wide tip pen). Same concept as calligraphy. It would be appreciated to be able to upgrade if you go that direction in the future. Thanks!

    25. Richard Benc April 20

Just did the survey for additional colours and was sad to see there was no 'Kickstarter green' option! Would be great to offer the iconic green colour to early backers!

Don't know if you guys had considered this - i get shipping is still a wee bit away though!
      Cheers

I decided to back Joto because it’s an interesting idea and I think it has the potential to be so much more if new features are added in the future.

Right now, Joto looks like a fun tool for sharing art and ideas with our loved ones from far away. However, I wish that it could have more features helpful to artists. Judging from it’s design, there are certain features I think would work well.

      1) I wish Joto could be used on other surfaces, such as paper and canvas.

      2) I would find it helpful if Joto could draw with a pencil. Also, if this feature is implemented, it’d be nice if we’re given the option to decide whether the lines will be drawn lightly or with more pencil pressure applied overall to create darker lines.

      3) I’d like to be able to fit the drawing into different sized areas. For example, a drawing scanned from a sketchbook would be transferred into a canvas. A drawing from a smaller sheet of paper would be transferred to a larger sheet of paper, or vice versa. In other cases, the drawing may be transferred to a sheet of paper of the same size but with different qualities, such as printer paper to watercolor paper. This feature would be super useful because it can make it a lot easier for traditional artists to transfer their drawings from one surface to another, without having to redraw many times using the grid method. It’s a repetitive and tiring step, which I prefer to skip because doing so would make the process of creating traditional art more appealing. It allows artists to get started on a painting immediately after finishing their drawing, instead of spending additional hours to transfer that drawing to the canvas.

      4) Lastly, because of the way Joto moves, I think it could be made to also serve as a scanner. I imagine it would work kind of like a magic wand scanner, except that the movements would have the precision of a robot instead of relying on the steadiness of human hands.

I know that these ideas are sort of ambitious but they were inspired by Joto’s design. There is currently no tool on the market to perform these functions, but I wish there was, because it would really transform the art-making process.

Thank you for reading my comment and for creating Joto. I wish you success on this project!

Hi @Gustavo there may be the opportunity at the survey stage but to put your mind at easy. OBVIOUSLY support is prefered before the campaign deadline.

Like most kickstarters Joto have also launched an Indiegogo campaign (see indiegogo.com), it won't have as good as discount and it delivers after kickstarter... but at least you'd have have one pre-ordered for when they're ready :)

also you'd essentially be benefiting Joto as they get more support n revenue :)

@Eclectic Collector - as mentioned we're working on making Joto as quiet as possible. We've updated the motor drivers to make them as quiet as possible, and we're now looking at reducing all the mechanical noise while finalising all components for manufacture.

Hi guys, Cannes seems a long time ago but awesome you nearly have this ready! I'll obviously tell everyone I knew you guys before you were famous and I always knew it was a fantastic product... and of course I have bought myself a couple!

    43. Those Creador April 12

@Neel Parikh - our manufacture can handle the volume so it shouldn't cause problems. Manufacturing tech is obviously not easy, but hopefully we can navigate the process as planned.

I'm looking forward to the product. Now that you have almost 4 times what you were looking for, do you believe this will delay your manufacturing process? Only asking because other tech products have run into many problems with the process when they were funded multiples of what they were seeking. Thanks

    46. KEY ANCHOR April 12

The interactivity of this is great, and depicted well in the video. Looks like a great idea, hoping it becomes a reality!

    47. Those Creador April 12

@Emmanuel B - As mentioned earlier, we're working hard to make Joto as quiet as possible. With regards to waking you up - it will make noise as it has moving parts and motors, but we're not sure how light a sleeper you are ;-) Our original concept models had wood features, unfortunately it just wasn't possible at this stage. But who knows, in the future we might find a way.
