Update: Success, in two days! Thank you all so much for your awesome support. My fundraising goal is met, but the $1,500 goal was only the bare minimum to make the CDs. There's a ton of stuff I'd still love to be able to do. Not the least of which is to get a new preamp - my Portico is dead, so I've been having to use the crummy built-in preamps for my interface to record. I'd also love to get a real Wurlitzer electric piano and a bunch of other instruments. Everything that you contribute from here on in goes toward making the music you get sound better, and allows me to focus more of my time on music.
My next album, as of yet untitled, is almost done. And if I do say so myself, it's kinda awesome. This time around, the material is a lot lighter in feel than my other albums. And I'm doing something different this time: I'm videotaping every moment of the recording process, and painstakingly assembling them into VideoSongs (as I did before with Let It In).
But I need your help. Making CDs is expensive. So I'm letting you guys decide whether there will be a physical CD this time around - if this project succeeds, it goes off to the presses. If this goes over the goal, the funds will be used to help tackle my long wishlist of expensive things needed to make my music sound better (free music is, alas, not free to make).
Thanks for all of your support over the years - you guys are amazing. Can't wait to unleash this beast.
