Howdy, Kickstarter backer! My name is Josh, and this is my campaign that showcases all 17 of the original card games I have created since I began doing this as a hobby, off and on, about a year ago (Psst. My new game for this campaign is Quarrelsome Creatures, #17, below).

Each of my 17 fun, quirky, cute, original card games...

  • has a total of 70 cards.
  • is fun and unique in terms of game play.
  • supports 2-4 players (sometimes more).
  • is packaged in a sweet plastic deckbox.
  • can easily be learned in just a couple minutes.
  • will be manufactured of high quality card stock (320 GSM Black Core).
  • has full instructions printed on one of the cards.
  • is enjoyable to play for both kids and us grown ups :P
  • costs you only $15! Woot!
  • makes a wonderful gift.
  • is guaranteed for delivery by Christmas!!!

Here's an overview of each available game, including card previews, as well as a brief game play video, so that you can quickly learn how to play each one:

1. Adorable Monsters

Adorable Monsters is the first card game I created, and maybe the most fun of them all. Your goal is to be the first to create a squad of 7 monsters on the table before you. With each turn, you play a new card, that has a special power. The super fun part? Some of those powers allow you to sabotage the progress of your opponents. Woot!

Note: There are 2 different versions of Adorable monsters available. The first is the "classic" arrangement of the game (which has the yellow card backing shown above), and the second is the newer "fuchsia fury" arrangement of the game, that includes a few newer cards (shown below in the "packaging" section of the campaign). The choice will be yours as to which version of the game you'd like :)

2. Goodbye, Ghosts!

Goodbye, Ghosts! is inspired by the classic card games Uno and Skip-Bo. So, if you enjoy playing either of those games, this game will be right up your alley. To play Goodbye, Ghosts!, you divide the deck of cards evenly among all players, and then you try to discard as many of your cards as possible, during each turn, by matching either the color, or the facial expression, of each silly ghost. But, it's not that easy, as there are special action ghosts that can quickly alter game play. Boo!

3. Outfoxed!

Outfoxed! was actually the last of my 15 card games that I created. For this game, I wanted to come up with something that was totally unique, and that gave each player a very different style of available strategies. The result is this cute and epic showdown for survival between the sneaky foxes, and the greater-in-numbers, birds.

4. Froggi

Froggi was inspired by the classic Milton-Bradley game Connect 4. But, instead of just 2 players, Froggi allows 4, as well as special cards that can dramatically swing the game one way or another. If you like Connect 4, this advanced, strategic, frog-themed form of that type of game is for you. In fact, my mom and I were just playing this game this past Mother's Day! It's a ton of fun! Ribbit! Croak!

5. Gem Quest

Believe it or not, Gem Quest came to be while I was originally trying to create a property-purchasing card game, similar to Monopoly. I wanted to make a game in which something could be purchased by players, as the game progresses. After all, the fun part about playing Monopoly is getting to purchase the various properties, right? So, Gem Quest gives you the ability to use the coins you collect, as a way to help you obtain a certain number of jewels you need to win the game.

6. Get the Gummies

Get the Gummies is my trick-taking game that is inspired by the classic card game Hearts. During each turn a player dishes out a gummy bear card, and if any other players have a card of the same color, they must play it. The player who throws down the biggest gummy bear of that color, takes the trick, and scores points for that hand. There are also gummy bears with special points that allow you to give, or take away, large amounts of points from certain players. Plus, you just can't go wrong with the cuteness of gummy bears :P

7. Into the Sea

This nautical-themed card game is adorable. But, beyond that, Into the Sea is also original in terms of game play, as it has no identifiable inspiration. In this game, your goal is to string together groups of same colored fish, to attract and capture big sea creatures (which are worth a lot of points). The player who scores the most points, wins! Gurgle, gurgle!

8. Nom Nom Yum!

Nom Nom Yum! is simple in premise, yet still a lot of fun to play. it's the perfect card game for very young children, as the game has just one action. During each turn, you play a food item into your junk food stash on the table before you, and if anyone else has that food item in play, he or she must remove it. It's that simple! Thus, your goal is to increase your food stash to a count of 10, while impeding the progress of your opponents. Mmmm. Tasty.

9. Cliques

Cliques is a simple game in which you start with a hand of 10 quirky, colorful characters, and then try to match them together by color, play them on the table, and thereby create a "clique." Your goal is to get rid of all the cards in your hand. You can do that by creating your own cliques, as well as increasing cliques that other players have already played. Yet, it's not that easy. "Zombie" cards can eat cliques, and scare some of the characters back into the hands of your opponents, as a way to hinder their progress. When one player has discarded all of his or her cards, the other players score 1 point for each card they still hold. You play multiple hands. The goal is to have the lowest point score when all is said and done.

10. Puppers & Doggos

In Puppers & Doggos, you are attempting to create a full pack of 9 canines, while trying to ensure your opponents don't do so first. This game has similar mechanics to Adorable Monsters, but here there are two different classes of cards "puppers" and "doggos." The cards all have special powers, but those powers only affect one of the two classes of cards, which makes this game more strategic and nuanced, in that way. Woof! Bark! Ruff!

11. Punkin Fight!

I started designing the cards for Punkin Fight! before I even knew what I was going to do with them! I literally made the cards and then said to myself, "Okay, so how to players use them?" The result is a completely original Halloween-themed card game that isn't inspired by any other game I've ever played. What makes Punkin Fight! so fun is that during each turn you get to make up to 3 different moves to either protect your ground, or attack an opponent's position. It's a strategy card game, yes, but a light one that is very easy to learn. Spooky!

12. Kill Them All

If you think emojis are stupid and annoying (like I do), Kill Them All is for you. Why? Because you get to use all sorts of weapons to murder them, that's why! You start the game with 3 emojis in front of you, and then must collect the different weapons shown, in order to kill off each one. But, this game has a twist: During a turn, if you can't attack one of your emojis, you must attack an opponent's emoji. In other words, you're forced to help an opponent, when you can't make progress yourself. Dun, dun, dun!

13. Murderopolis

Murderopolis is a rummy-style card game in which you role-play as a private investigator who must collect the location, evidence, suspect, and weapon cards needed to solve one of the town's open murder cases. The game also has wild cards, to help you make matches, and utilizes a wide field for discarding (as opposed to a single discard pile). In addition, there's also the terrifying "You're Dead" card (shown above), which makes you immediately lose the game. That's right, in this card game, one of the town's serial killers can hunt you, as you're hunting him!

14. Gone In 61 Seconds

Gone In 61 Seconds is a tile-based card game in which you take turns trying to steal expensive cars out of a guarded parking lot. Your goal is to boost the highest value of cars possible. Make the most money with your theft, and you win! Vrooom! Screeeech. Zooooom!

15. Deadly Concoctions

In Deadly Concoctions, you mix potions by combining ingredients into fatal substances that you then use to attack other players. To begin the game, each player has a heart, mind, and spirit card set before him or her, that you're trying to destroy. Kill all 3 parts of life, and you kill your opponent! Each potion you create, by collecting the right cards, targets only one part of a player's life. So, to win this game, you have to create the right potions, at the right time, to successfully attack your opponents.

16. 4 Letter Words

When you play 4 Letter Words, my newest game, your goal is simple! When it's your turn, you draw up to 5 cards (each containing parts of words), and place as many on the playing surface by connecting them to cards already in play, in an effort to make the most four letter words as possible, and score the most points! If you love word games (Like Scrabble), as well as shoving your vocabulary superiority in the face of your friends and family, you'll adore 4 Letter Words. Important: The game play video above shows an older design for the game. The game's current design is reflected in the cards shown above, and is limited to the 4 colors shown, for an 80s sort of vibe :)

17. Quarrelsome Creatures

Note: Quarrelsome Creatures is my newest game. At this time, I'm afraid I do not have a game play video available, but hope to add one soon. In the mean time, please reference the "instruction" card above, so that you can learn how to play the game.

Packaging:

The cards for all of my games games are packaged in high quality plastic deckboxes that you're going to love! They protect your cards, stack for easy storage, open with the push of a button (instead of hinges that might break over time) and make your games look awesome!

Shipping:

If you're based in The United States, you'll find that the shipping rate charged by the manufacturer is very reasonable. However, if you're located outside of The U.S., you'll find that shipping is fairly expensive. I wish shipping internationally didn't cost so much, but these prices are not within my control. Please know that I'm charging you the actual cost to ship you the number of games you want, and that the more games you get at once, the cheaper the shipping price you're paying per game.

Fulfillment:

All 17 games are completely designed and ready to be manufactured. So, when this campaign ends, I will simply place the order for your games with the manufacturer, who will proceed to produce them, and ship them right to you, within a couple of weeks. It's that easy! Sweet!

Age Recommendations:

Most of my games are perfect for all ages. However, Murderopolis, Kill Them All, Punkin Fight!, Gone In 61 Seconds, and Deadly Concoctions are more so intended for teens and adults. That's because they have subject matter that some could deem distasteful, such as references to violence, death, and criminality. Of course, you may still play them with children. There is nothing inherently wrong with doing so, as they are still incredibly tame by most standards. Even so, I provide this warning just in case you only want games that are rainbows and cupcakes :P

Reviews:

Here are some positive reviews left in the various sections of my prior Kickstarter card game campaigns. Keep in mind that these reviews were offered freely. In other words, I did not solicit them:

"Spent the better part of Christmas evening playing Punkin Fight with my husband. We love this so much (especially since this is still a ton of fun for two players) that I decided to buy 5 more copies to give to family/friends. Also got Out Foxed, to give that game a whirl, too, since 2 player games, that actually play well, are sometimes hard to come by. Love, love, love Punkin Fight."

"The cards (of Adorable Monsters) are great quality, and are in a wonderful plastic case. The coloring is awesome too. I've found the game to be fun and easy, a great game to play with our kids. What I wasn't expecting, was that it would be a fun game with only adults playing. But it is!"

"I just got Adorable Monsters today and we are soooo into it, we love how easy it is to learn the game, the art, and the simplicity."

"I just wanted to drop you a note to say that I've tested a number of the games out with my teens at the library and a few at our 20s/30s gaming program off-site at a local pizza place and everyone loves them. They are cute, compact and easy to transport, and easy to learn so I'm going to invest in getting copies for my teens (instead of having to lug mine back and forth all the time)!"

"I got the games in the mail earlier this week and the ones I have played so far have been great. I volunteer with kids and the games are easy to learn and kid friendly."

"...love your games..my kids and I always have a blast with your games..thanks to your creativity, we always have a laughing good time!"

"I'm loving Muderopolis. It's so easy to teach and very fun to play."

"I received my new card games last night. My two boys and I played them right away and had a blast!"

About Me:

Hi. My name is Josh and my little one-man card company is called the Quirky Co. Why? Well, because my games are quirky, that's why! If you haven't backed any of my projects before, you'll be happy to learn that most backers love the games, and are thrilled that I'm able to make and ship them within a couple weeks of the campaign ending. If you have any questions for me, prior to backing this campaign, I'll be happy to answer them. Simply send me a message on here, or, once you've backed the project, leave your question in the comments section above. Thanks so much for considering adding my cutie patootie games to your gaming collection!

Risks and challenges

I am relying on a manufacturer, Drive-Thru Cards, to make and ship the games to you. Thus far, the company has been very reliable. But, as the manufacturing process is the only part of this campaign that is out of my control, it can be considered a risk. Other than that, I've completed multiple successful card game campaigns, and backers have loved them! So, there you go :)
