Over the past 10 years, I've been creating photographs that explore the complex nature of fear. My work has been published in numerous magazines, anthologies, and news outlets around the world. I'm best known for my photographs dealing with childhood fears.
I'm currently working on my first film called BLACK LULLABY, an extension of my photographs dealing with childhood fears. This film is the climax to the series, and features a Little Girl confronting the Boogeyman.
As you can see from the video above, I've already started principal photography for my film. My daughter Chloe, a veteran model from my photographs, plays the part of the Little Girl.
However, the final image of the film is still missing. For the climax I need to create a Boogeyman - and that's why I need your help.
CHILDHOOD FEARS PHOTO SERIES
My friend J. Anthony Kosar, winner of last season's Face/Off on SyFy and creator of the zombie make-up effects for my most recent project LAST STAND, is returning to do the make-up effects on my film.
If I'm going to show you a monster, it has to be a really great monster. Hollywood-level special effects are expensive, and it will take someone with as much skill and talent as Kosar to make the climax of my film a success.
Kosar will be creating make-up for my friend and frequent model Bob Barber, who will be playing the part of the Boogeyman.
BLACK LULLABY currently has no audio, so there's still scoring, sound design and sound mixing to do. It's a long process and doing it right isn't cheap.
There are other post-production needs as well, such as color timing, adjusting the contrast, removing dead pixels, etc. I want to make sure all of the details of this film meet or exceed the level of detail in my photos.
The finished film will be packaged as a signed DVD or Blu-ray. There will also be a Special Features documentary about the making of this project that includes interviews with myself, Kosar, Barber, and my daughter Chloe.
Your DVD or Blu-ray will be packaged in a very attractive 4-Panel DVD case that allows for original photography as part of the design. I'm also creating a completely original 12x18 poster for the film. And anybody who pledges $25 of more will get their name in the credits.
Lastly, I'm creating a photo version of the climactic image of the film - when the Little Girl finally confronts the Boogeyman - as a limited edition fine-art print.
This will be the first time I use moving pictures to scare an audience, and I'm excited for everyone to see. If you love Horror films, please consider supporting this Kickstarter campaign and help spread the word!
