About this project
We aren't just starting an audio podcast, now. Because of your overwhelming support, we are going to be able to start an audio network. Click here for details.
WE HAVE MET OUR FUNDING GOAL BUT DON'T STOP PLEDGING!
You can still support the Blimey Cow Audio Network by pledging- and yes, all of the cool rewards are still available to those who do! PLUS! We have new and exciting STRETCH GOALS!
A stretch goal is a little something extra you get if we hit certain levels of funding. Check it out...
NOTE: These rewards are in addition to the ones you are already receiving! I know, right?!
Who We Are
Hi, we are Jordan, Kelli, and Josh Taylor, but you probably know us as Blimey Cow, a YouTube channel based out of Nashville, Tennessee, and the creators of the popular weekly series "Messy Mondays." Click here and here to see the kind of stuff we create (You may know us because of a video we did last year about our experience growing up as homeschoolers called "Seven Lies about Homeschoolers"). We believe the best way to ask big questions is to get people laughing. Here is a recent example of our work...
Our YouTube channel has over 97,000 subscribers, and 17 million video views. It has been consistently growing in popularity since we re-launched in August of 2011. We are excited about where we are and where we are going next- which brings us to the point of this campaign...
We have an idea for our next venture. It's an audio podcast, simply titled The Blimey Cow Podcast. We want to launch in JUNE in this year. Here are the details...
- Format: We want to create an audio podcast wherein we can talk about anything and everything. It won't be scripted. Think about it like a morning show on your favorite radio station, but with Blimey Cow behind the mic. It won't be live, of course, but the format will be comparable.
- Content: Listener questions, behind the scenes access, movies, music, board and video games, laughs, interviews, and thought-provoking conversations... we want this show to have a little bit of everything.
- Availability: The podcast will be available to download for free on our website and on iTunes.
- Frequency: A new podcast will be made available once every two weeks.
- Duration: We are currently aiming for a show that is between 10- and 20 minutes in length.
- Estimated Time of Arrival: We want to launch in June of this year.
- Professionalism: We have enlisted the help of many friends in the audio business to ensure that our show sounds as good as it can with the budget for which we will be provided.
Our YouTube channel will continue on as it always has- we just want to add something new to the list of things that we produce!
Sounds Cool! How Can I Help?
For this podcast to be possible, we need your help! No matter how many ways we try to slice it, audio equipment is expensive. We need your help to make this dream a reality.
Here is how it works: You pledge money toward our goal, but we only get that money if we reach $1,700! So, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. If we don't make our goal, this show will not happen. Basically, without you, our dream won't be possible!
Why a Podcast?
Hey guys! Josh here. From a very young age, and before I ever picked up a camera, I wanted to be a radio DJ. In college, I got to host my own weeknight show on the now-defunct 89.1FM WNAZ in Nashville, Tennessee. It was one of the best experiences of my entire life, thus far. I had an absolute blast and learned a lot. Upon graduating, my show ended- but my passion for radio did not.
I am finally ready to get back into audio- and the great thing about a Blimey Cow Podcast is that it becomes a natural extension of what we are already doing on YouTube, and thus frees me up to do both.
We are all super excited about this new venture, but we need your help to make it happen! If you are kind enough to back this project and aid us in making this dream a reality, we want to say "thank you" by sending you some cool stuff!
Here are all of the rewards we are offering in various combinations at the different pledge levels:
- PERSONALIZED RECORDING! ($5, $10, $20, $25, $30, $35, $75, $150, $250)
If our project is successful, we will use the brand spanking new audio equipment that YOU made possible to record for you a personal "thank you" message that will be delivered to your inbox, just for you. This won't be one of those boring and generic "thank you messages"- each one will be unique and special and super cool.
- STICKER! ($10, $20, $30, $35, $75, $150, $250)
A year ago, we printed a few hundred of these "I'd Rather Be Watching Blimey Cow" bumper stickers. Since then, we have been asked over and over when they would be available again. The answer is, now! After this campaign concludes, it will probably be a long while before we print them again, so get one now!
IN ADDITION! Because we surpassed $9,000, all pledge levels that get you an "I'd Rather Be Watching Blimey Cow" sticker also get you a "The Official Blimey Cow Podcast" sticker! You get two stickers instead of one!
- KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE POSTCARD! ($20, $30, $35, $75, $150, $250)
We are going to print some custom postcards that feature a picture of the three of us! We will then write a personal "thank you" on every single one of them to express our gratitude to you for helping us reach our goal.
- KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE T-SHIRT! ($25, $30, $35, $75, $150, $250)
In 2007, we printed a little over 100 of these "Don't Be Messy!" shirts for our friends who enjoyed our videos. We're excited to announce that we are going to print them again exclusively for this Kickstarter! After this campaign, we have no plans to ever print this guy again. In all likelihood, this design will be retired. Get this piece of Blimey Cow history while you can!
NOTE: This design will be printed on Gildan ring-spun, cotton shirts. Our shirt distributor told us they will run a little small. They are available in the following sizes: Youth Medium, Youth Large, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large, and Adult Extra Large. If this project is successfully funded, you will receive a "Backer Survey" which you will use to tell us which size you want.
- COMBO PACK! ($35, $75, $150, $250)
You get a personalized recording, an "I'd Rather Be Watching Blimey Cow" sticker, a Kickstarter-Exclusive Blimey Cow postcard with a personal "thank you" written on it, and a Kickstarter-Exclusive "Don't Be Messy!" shirt.
- SPONSOR AN EPISODE! ($50, $75, $150)
Your name will be listed at the end of an episode of The Blimey Cow Podcast as one of that episode's sponsors. It will sound something like this: "This episode is sponsored by Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker, and Tony Stark." Basically, it's letting us express how appreciative we are that you helped make the show possible.
- SKYPE WITH US! ($100, $150, $250)
We may seem pretty outgoing in our videos, but in real life, we're actually pretty awkward and shy- and what better way to discover that for yourself than to SKYPE WITH US! In all seriousness, we would love to chat with you. For 30 minutes, we can talk about whatever you want to talk about, and we will answer whatever questions you want to ask. It will be a blast!
- BE A SEASON SPONSOR! ($200, $250)
This is just like the episode sponsorship, except that your name will be listed as a "Season Sponsor" at the end of every episode of The Blimey Cow Podcast in 2013. Also, you will basically be our hero.
- YOUR OWN VIDEO! ($500)
We will shoot you your VERY OWN Messy Mondays video! You send us the script, and we will do it! Only four of these are available!
NOTE: This video will be for your own personal use and will not be uploaded to any of our YouTube channels. Also note that the script must be WITHIN REASON and not conflict with our morals or beliefs, or cover any sort of "controversial topic." For example, "How to Make the Best Pizza of All Time" is fine, "How to Steal Money from Your Friends" is not fine. You can message us for more details if you are considering this level!
Please bear in mind, this page is not a store- rather, these rewards are simply our way of expressing gratitude to those willing and able to financially back this project.
We can only ship within the US, and to Canada. Sorry, no overseas shipping!

Where Your Money Is Going:
We have talked to experts in the field of audio production extensively over the last few months and have stripped our list of equipment needs down to the bone to make this as affordable as possible. $1,700 is the minimum amount we need to finish with a product of which we can be proud, and that still meets our creative and professional standards.
- $400 - (Three microphones)
- $350 - (Audio editing software)
- $750 - Reward fulfillment for backers (Including shipping costs and unforeseen expenses that will inevitably pop up)
- Kickstarter's cut, for the kind use of their website!
NOTE: Any money we receive over and above $1,700 is going directly toward the purchase of even better audio equipment to be used for the creation of our podcast. If we hit our goal, don't stop pledging! The more money we raise, the better and more professional our show will sound.
Thanks to Sarah Bonham (who shot our video); Garrett Vandenberg (who wrote the music in our video); Teale Fristoe, Morgan Grainger, and David Smith (who consulted on this project); and "SF Gavin Richardson." (who created our Blimey Cow Podcast logo).

Risks and challenges
Starting a new entertainment venture is always a tricky business, especially considering how much content we are already producing on a weekly basis before factoring in a new podcast.
Though we plan to launch in June, there is the possibility that we could run into delays- audio/equipment issues being the most prominent potential challenge we could face.
To ensure any potential issues are dealt with quickly, we have enlisted the help of friends with extensive audio experience to come to our aid should issues arise.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
