Josh Ginsburg's debut album.
Hello everyone, thanks for checking out my Kickstarter project! After many years as a sideman in NYC, I finally recorded my first album of all original music, and will be releasing it in December on Brooklyn Jazz Underground Records. This is music I've been developing for a really long time, and I'm really excited to get it out there and to hopefully have you be a part of it.
We went into the studio at the end of June, and the recording came out great! I feel we really got to something both musically unique and emotionally powerful. The musicians; Eli Degibri on saxophones, George Colligan on piano and Rhodes, and Rudy Royston on drums; are all amazing; if you are not familiar with them already, check them out! The music I wrote for them was challenging on many levels, and these guys just ate it up. You can hear a little bit of what we've done at the beginning and end of the video above.
So now the album is halfway done, the reason for this Kickstarter campaign is, hopefully with your help, to fund the "post-production" phase of the project, the mixing, mastering, artwork, and printing. The $7000 goal is the minimum needed for this, anything above that would allow for an even better "finished product". Brooklyn Jazz Underground Records is a artist-run collective, so everything they release is funded (and owned) by the artists themselves.
Well, it's pretty difficult writing about music, but please have a look at the video which goes into more detail. I also have many gifts at all different price levels- I tried to come up with some unique ones, so if you do donate, you'll be getting something pretty cool. Or if you just want to hear the music, pledge at the $10 level and you will get a pre-release download at the same price as Itunes or Amazon.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com
Well, of course I'd be happy to take a check if there really is no alternative, but kickstarter won't allow me to directly put it towards the $7000 goal. Since it is an "all-or-nothing" fundraiser, I would prefer doing it through the Kickstarter/Amazon system, but please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
If you join this, I will send you two great songs/pieces a month for five months. I am musically omnivorous, so I will be sending stuff that is really great music from all different genres and from all around the world. Along with them, I will send some personal notes on them; why I think they are so great, other similar music to check out that is similar, or how they have influenced my own music.
Of course! Just shoot me an email (email@example.com) and we'll work it out. (You can always go back and increase your pledge, but it will only show up on Kickstarter under one gift)
January 12 at the Jazz Gallery in NYC and January 14 at An Die Musik in Baltimore. If you cannot make it, you can of course be a guest at any subsequent performance.
