Hi. I'm taking on the huge task of producing an original sitcom pilot made for the web for my senior capstone project at Rogers State University.
What does that mean?
Whether or not I graduate will strongly depend on this project. As a Communications major in the Radio/Television program, I am being asked to use the skills I have culminated throughout my years of schooling and prove that I can actually do the things that my degree says I can.
Well, this is what I do. This is what I want to do in the future. This will be my first time creating a piece for film, but I am more than confident that I can do it. I've already co-written one full length play, The Legend of Sleepy, for which I was recognized for Excellence in Playwriting from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. I've also written a short play that was produced at Rogers State University which takes place in the moments before the Oklahoma City Bombing.
What's the show about?
"No Sense of Direction" follows the life of college student Megan Madison as she goes through the obstacles of earning her degree. The show takes place at a small University in Oklahoma.
Here's where you come in:
I need a lot of help. I need the support of my peers, friends, and family in order to make this happen. Emotional support is invaluable, but we all know that financial backing is key here.
I know, I know. Here I am asking you for money. Great. It's not much though. If I can get just 15 people to donate $25, I will have more than enough for what I need.
What do I need?
Well, if I reach my fundraising goal, I will put it toward equipment I will need for filming. That will range anywhere from camera, lighting, and sound equipment to props, costumes, or set pieces.
Risks and challenges
There are many obstacles that I could, and likely will, face. I could lose an actor, equipment, precious time. I could hit bumps in the editing or writing process.
I will tackle these obstacles like I always have: one step at a time. I can't afford for this project not to be completed. It isn't an option.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
