Deadly Delivery is a casual 3D Vehicle Platformer that I've been developing for two years now. It's a mashup of the racing and platforming genres, where your speed and accuracy are paramount to passing the level.
The idea is simple: you are the operator of a remote-controlled vehicle and your objective is to deliver the dangerous goods to the designated point. The task, however, isn’t so easy. Zoom your way past landmines, falling platforms and land ridiculous jumps in five unforgiving and challenging destinations.
Each level in the game boasts a unique setting, they are as follows:
'The Exchange' - Modern complex of concrete, wood & glass.
'Rocky Islands' - A series of small islands surrounded by water.
'Digger's Cavern' - An immense mossy cave system.
'Frostbite Peak' - A dark snowy landscape.
'Deadly Dream' - Floating islands, props and more craziness.
I wanted to make sure that the game was at about 80% completion before I ran a Kickstarter campaign so I knew I would be able to finish it. I'm the only person working on this project - in addition to the game I've been responsible for the website, social media channels & trailer (+music). Deadly Delivery will be released on Steam after the Kickstarter campaign, in June.

I've always been a gamer, and for the past 5 or so years of my life I've been wanting to make my own contribution to the gaming world. It never really stuck, until I picked up Unreal Engine 4 in 2016.
I wanted to make something different... Some of my fondest gaming memories were playing custom games in Halo 3 with friends and doing extreme challenges like Flaming Ninja 3, which was platforming of a kind. There were also a few maps where you would just drive around a circuit in the sky with an ATV (mongoose). I took some of these elements to make my own crazy fun & challenging platformer.
I'm not fussed whether or not it's a 'commercial success', I just hope that you enjoy the game as much as I loved making it.
- Five unique maps
- Best time (local only)
- Three difficulties
- Unlockable explosive colors
- Basic steam achievements
I've set the Kickstarter at $150, to cover the cost of me putting my project on Steam and cover the cost of modelling software that I subscribed to.
Exceeding this goal will allow me to introduce new features, refer to the figures below.
At $250 I will add even more achievements (not just the basic ones) to the game so you'll get even more out of it. If we reach $1,000, I will be able to implement a perks system for the explosive colours*. I don't imagine we'll reach $5,000 but if we do I will finish building a sci-fi level that I started. All the assets are built for it, I just haven't had the time to create a whole level with it.
*The way it works is you unlock a color by finding collectibles, equip the colour, and it may give you extra respawns, stop platforms from falling or let you place a checkpoint.
Risks and challenges
The only foreseeable circumstance that may cause a delay to the release is the Steam Greenlight application process, but I will be applying early to minimise any risk in that regard.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
