Is a new series of 12 games from Jordan Draper with various guest designers, all based on real world simulations of the beautiful and overlooked life in Tokyo, Japan. This campaign contains the first three titles in the series.
Every single game is modular. They can be played stand alone, in series (adding end game scores), or integrated with 1 or more other TOKYO titles for an expanded new experience!
TOKYO JIDOHANBAIKI is a game about Japanese vending machines and drinks! Utilizing exquisite, tactile components, this title includes over 20 unique 5-15 minute games from various guest designers across the globe. With a huge range of game types and flavors (deduction, dexterity, economic, etc), this game is perfect for any setting or player count!
TOKYO METRO is a heavy economic simulation of the metro system in Tokyo, using a unique action placement cycling system, stock investments, speculation, loans, bicycles, grid movement, train riding, and more! Playing 1-4 players and taking 120 minutes on average, TOKYO METRO will fill the hearts of train enthusiasts and サラリーマン alike!
TOKYO JUTAKU is a larger version of the previously sold out game Jutaku, where 1-8 players will take on the role of Japanese architects designing small, abstract home models on strangely shaped plots of land. With 69 unique wooden pieces and a range of building conditions from easy to very difficult, this real time dexterity game is very exciting for a large group, but can also be played as a solitary meditation experience.
Stretch goals have been planned for and costed from the outset, ensuring that their addition will not incur delivery delays or compromises in the quality of the final product elsewhere. All of the TOKYO SERIES games come fully upgraded with SPOT UV, thick chip board, linen cards, real wooden pieces, resin and ABS miniatures, and more to follow!
Also available as an add on is a beautiful fully metal currency that can be used with all of the TOKYO SERIES games! Only one print run of this currency design will be created.
Checkout a basic overview video for how to play each of the games below, or even better read each rulebook after the video! For TOKYO JIDOHANBAIKI, only a few of the 20+ included games are shown, but many more will be added throughout the campaign as the rules are submitted.
If a game has the (¥) character inside of a circle next to its title in the rulebooks, that game is eligible to be played in series by keeping a total end game cumulative yen score. (click the rulebooks to view them).
I've had the privilege of demoing all 3 titles at Essen Spiel 2017, and at the Kickstarter booth at PAX Unplugged 2017 with great reception! Here are some shots from those events, plus some reactions from the players:
Here are some really cool people I met, betting on which miniature drinks they think will come out of the vending machine tower. Thanks again to Luke from Kickstarter Games for inviting me out, I had a blast!

Risks and challenges
After running 5 Kickstarters, I have learned a lot about the logistics of manufacturing and shipping games. I am excited to take this knowledge and experience into another big project!
I now understand the setbacks that delay manufacturing, and I'm ready to tackle them head on. If any unforeseen problems crop up, I will be ready to handle them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I have already sought out fulfillment partners to cover shipping across the globe, and with your help we are ready to hit the ground running with the first 3 titles in the TOKYO SERIES!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
