I hear you. I have two pages left to draw, plus the cover and layout miscellany. I could get the whole thing done in 3-4 days, if such a thing existed. Right now I'm averaging about 1-2 days behind my regular schedule, so finding that time has been difficult. Today, for example, I had to bring Alec to therapy, and then he was sent home early from day care with a fever, so I lost a full day of productivity. This sort of thing is not uncommon.

I'll make you a deal: if I'm not able to find the time to finish it by the end of June I'll shut down SFAM and focus exclusively on the kickstarter until it's done. Deal?

Do we have any kind of date we can expect the mini-comic to be done? It's been a year and 2 months since the project was funded. I know this kind of thing will take time, but time has passed, I imagine along with most of your backer's good will. If it still isn't started then it really has to either become your priority or be abandoned.

How can I change my shipping address? I've moved since I backed this project.

    4. Jonathan Rosenberg 2-time creator on May 5, 2014

I don't have an exact date, shortly after the mini is done.

Can we have an update on when the physical books will be shipped out?

    6. Jonathan Rosenberg 2-time creator on March 21, 2014

Sure thing, David. I'll try and put together a comprehensive list of what's been accomplished and what's left to do. I was going to try and work on the mini this afternoon, but I'll prioritize this instead.

Could we get a new update?

    8. Jonathan Rosenberg 2-time creator on February 21, 2014

Nothing of interest -- still looking for that magic window where I'll have enough time to finish the mini. Hopefully next week.

Go Jon Go! Make Printing HAPPEN! We believe in you!

    11. Jonathan Rosenberg 2-time creator on January 8, 2014

Not much to update, holidays were hectic. I have a few smallish projects that need to be finished and then I'll finish up the mini. Shipping will begin after that gets printed. I'll post an update in the next week or so when I have more to let you know about.

    12. Drew Johnson on January 8, 2014

Hi, Jon. Could you update us on the Kickstarter?

I'm currently reposting all the color comics to the new goats site ( Once we're all caught up I'm hoping to start doing new comics at a rate of about a page a week. I want to get started as well but posting the archives is time-consuming and I want to also give new readers a chance to catch up.

Hope that helps, let me know if you still have any concerns.

Hey Jon, any word on when we might see Goats happening again? I think that is what most of us really truly wanted when we pledged to this kickstarter a year and a half ago. The rewards are nice and all, but not the real meat. Seems like a common problem with kickstarters - the creator gets so swamped doing the rewards that the core cause loses out. I follow SFAM, and saw your latest post looking for patrons ( ). I'll likely sign up - a buck a month is great value for SFAM, but I'll double it the second the Goats starts to flow.

    16. Jonathan Rosenberg 2-time creator on November 5, 2013

Once I finish the mini (on my plate right now) and get them printed we'll ship the books. USB thumbdrives will follow afterwards so we don't delay the shipping of the rest of the rewards any further.

Any update on when the books and USB thumb drives will ship?

    18. Jonathan Rosenberg 2-time creator on September 21, 2013

Nothing substantial, still working on the ebooks and the mini. The books themselves are finished and printed, just waiting to finish up the rest of the rewards before we ship. I'll post a real update soon.

    19. David Harris on September 21, 2013

Any more updates? Any idea when the books will come out, and when Goats might be finished?

Jon. I had to move out the US back to Canada. Possibly able to move back to the US at the end of 2013. If you start mailing stuff out before then how can we make this work? shall I just paypal you the extra $7 for shipping?

I don't mean for that to sound passive-agressive. The stuff will take as long as it takes. I just want to be sure I pay the amount I owe due to my own circumstances.

I'm in, though after a decade of following this comic it's like it's not even a choice anymore. When I first found it I didn't even know about webcomics, I just assumed it was a simulcast of a newspaper comic my local paper didn't get. I hope we see a SFAM or Team Force Alpha kickstarter once Goats is wrapped up.

This is the best news in ages. Basically I see Kickstarter as a sort of crowd-sourced MacArthur genius grant... Goats was one of the great unfinished symphonies of our time, and though old-school "patrons of the arts" might be a bit thin on the ground these days, it's great that teh internetz can combine hundreds of ordinary people together into the equivalent of one "patron of the arts". Posterity will thank you Jon, and thank us, for this.

I could've used my pledge money to buy myself something nice, but I used it to buy the world something nice instead.
