Many claim that the 90s was one of the greatest decades of English football. Don’t you miss waiting for endless cycles of Ceefax to get the scores (page 302, anyone)? Football Italia? Fifa with INDOOR MODE!? It was a simpler time too - before VAR the most technologically advanced part of the game was a pair of Adidas Predators. And what about the larger-than-life characters? None of this media-savy 'ambassador of the game' malarky, no sir. We want Gazza, Cantona, Ravanelli... Barry Venison (sorry, that’s in there for my mum).
If you ran around with your collar up and a sticky plaster across your nose then this is for you my friends; an entire pack of playing cards featuring 52 graphic interpretations of the 90s most iconic football shirts. Perfect for away days on the coach, stag weekends or poker nights with your mates.
Why do we need your help?
We need your support to help fund the first print run of FootballKitCards and to meet our minimum order quantity. Without your help these cards won't see the light of David May (that's 90s Cockney Rhyming Slang for 'day'...probably).
52 shirts from 25 Premier League teams. The deck includes shirts from some of the most iconic moments in 90s football. What shirts to include was a difficult task but we decided to pick shirts that were either;
A. Objects of flawlessly executed apparel design, or
B. So hideous that their memory can't be erased.
The cards themselves are poker-sized and printed in the United Kingdom onto high quality card playing board. They are plastic coated for lasting durability and low resistance shuffling.
For our first print run, the box for your playing cards will include a small 'team sheet' (leaflet) which will list all the backers who have helped to bring this project to life. It's up to you whether we include your name, social media handle or if you'd prefer to remain anonymous.
We really want to show our appreciation to the earliest backers of this project by offering the playing cards at an 'Early Bird' price. Many of you have followed the project from the very beginning and without that support it would never have got this far (on the other hand I would have fixed the broken fence panel in the garden and put the cot up for our second child...).
The 'Team Sheet'
Every backer who buys one of our packs of playing cards will have their name included in the 'Team Sheet' (included in every pack).
The Art Print
It's big (A2) and includes all the artwork used in the deck of cards. This would look great in any Man Cave, Woman Cave or, just, a cave. Signed and numbered limited edition. Frame not included.
The Custom Pack
We're excited to be able to offer just 2 backers the chance to order x10 packs that each include an extra card - a classic shirt with their own name and number on the back! You also get the A2 art print and your name on the 'Team Sheet'.
We are committed to making this the very best product it can be. If we exceed our target and reach our stretch goal then every pack (whether you have pledged already or not) will be upgraded automatically!
We've spent a lot of time sourcing a UK printer who specialise in printing playing cards. We've built in a little bit of flex to our timeline and anticipate that, should the project be funded, you will receive your playing cards by September 2019 (UK) - Worldwide deliveries will be a week or two after that.

Risks and challenges
My background is in graphic design for product so I have a good understanding of the risks involved. I've secured the services of a UK-based printer who specialises in playing cards which should minimise the risk of anything going wrong. I have also invested in a test pack which is my physical proof to sign off on with regards to colours and finishes. I've factored in some extra time in the project in case anything does go wrong but I'm going into this with the confidence of being 3-0 up with 1 minute left to play.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
