Help The Black Hollies Press A Limited Edition Vinyl 45 With United Record Pressing To Bring With Them To Psychfest in Austin, TX.
As a direct result of our initial campaign on www.kickstarter.com The Black Hollies successfully raised enough funds to get ourselves to Psychfest in Austin, TX! Now, The Black Hollies want to take it to the next level and press 500 copies of a limited edition vinyl 45 with free digital download to commemorate this special occasion. Are you with us? The Black Hollies recorded two brand new songs in our very humble rehearsal space during a marathon fifteen hour session with the help of engineer Ryan Gross on March 6, 2011. The next step: send the songs to United Record Pressing as soon as physically possible with the hope of having a brand new vinyl 45 in our hands before or on April 29, 2011. The whole idea here is to pierce through the space time continuum and make a miracle happen. The Black Hollies intend to cut costs substantially by making hand drawn/hand painted/hand screened/hand stamped covers under the guidance of art director Dan Rumain. With the help of www.kickstarter.com and YOUR support The Black Hollies know that we can raise the money to cover the cost of the vinyl pressing which is $985. The Black Hollies were truly moved by everyone's support in February which is why the band has decided to take on this new challenge. There are plenty of fun rewards planned for our beloved pledgers. We'll be doing everything we can to make this happen. Time is of the essence so let's get bendin' it. Here we go, FUN-raiser Pt. Deux. We can do this!

All of the above rewards plus The Black Hollies write YOU a song about the topic of your choice featuring your member of choice on lead vocals accompanied by a caricatured rendering of a member of The Black Hollies based on their resemblance to a corresponding cast member of Stripes! Herb will illustrate the rendering. For example, if you opt for this pledge you could potentially take this route: Topic: drum endorsements and "making it" with a sprinkle of the city streets, channeling Seger's "Hollywood Nights." Lead vocals: Nick. Caricature:Nick as Bill Murray's "Pvt. John Winger," no relation to Kip. Or you could mix and match and opt for Wiley on vocals with a caricature of Justin as John Laroqeuette's "Capt. Stillman." Or opt for Jon on vocals with a caricature of Herb as John Candy's "Pvt. Dewey "Ox" Oxburger." The sky's the limit these are just a few suggestions for how deep we'll go.
