New Stretch Goal: Grant Kirkhope song (Banjo-Kazooie Composer)!

We at Gears for Breakfast are happy to say that we have been able to get in contact with legendary composer, Grant Kirkhope, and make him part of our A Hat in Time Kickstarter stretch goal!

Grant Kirkhope has worked on the soundtracks for Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye 007, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, and many many more.

This is incredibly big for us, because we all grew up with these tunes and allowing this magic to be part of our game is a really magic moment for us!

Let's hit those stretch goals!!

(Please note that most of the money in the $150,000 stretch goal goes to improving existing chapters by adding enemies, NPCs, items and new abilities! Mr. Kirkhope has been very generous!!)

My only regret is not being able to pledge more. I seriously can't wait for this game to come out especially if we hit the last stretch goal! Keep going guys!

I have a feeling with the support and notice this game is getting that all the stretch goals will be met and broken. Can't wait to see this game progress along towards release!

I'm up for a vita port, since people appear to be asking here.
Anyways, Grant Kirkhope? Now I'm super excited!

THE Grant Kirkhope, the guy who's music pops into my head on a daily basis is going to be making music for this project. Hope this stretch goal gets reached because it would make me very happy.

      I'm also for a Vita-port!

Cool to see Kirkhope being up to becoming a part of this project, nothing says "N64 era platformer" quite like a Grant Kirkhope tune.

omg i thought the voice acting was the best goal, and then this happneded

    13. Creator Ron Au on June 3, 2013

Haha, the way you've labelled the $150K stretch goal sure makes it looks like it would take 40000 American dollars to write one song.

But yes, he is very generous :)

Grant Kirkhope is truly a fantastic guy.

    15. Creator Dean Grove on June 3, 2013

Regarding the Soundtrack, I think that I'd rather see an Indie composer do something than someone established.

What I'd like even more would be an open call to everyone and we decide on who we think is the best (everyone provides a song or something).

    16. Creator Lycandar on June 3, 2013

Oh wow this is amazing, i can't believe you got Grant Kirkhope to sign up for a stretch goal. We must meet this now! :D

    17. Creator Taylor Mumford on June 3, 2013

    18. Creator Maxram0 on June 3, 2013

    21. Creator John on June 3, 2013

Just wondering why there is a new Stretch goal when he said he would do it if the project gets past the ones already there? Or will he do alot of music if it gets to 150k? Either way I hope it gets there :p it will be sweet.

    22. Creator Lindsay Berkovitz on June 3, 2013

Great job! Please think of even more Stretch Goals to entice more pledging. More chapters or levels would be beyond fantastic. If you could put Wii U as as stretch goal that would open the floodgates and pledges would pour in!

Let's storm Miiverse with a Hat in Time.

Gears for Breakfast, if you go to E3 this next week: PROMOTE LIKE MAD!

I truly want this to go beyond your stretch goals and to a retail release,

      Good Luck :-)

The good news just keeps rolling in! The only thing that sucks is how excruciating the wait for this game is going to be.

    28. Creator Jayykob on June 3, 2013

HOLYSHITBBQ THIS IS GOING TO BE SO AWESOME <3

    29. Creator Justin McDonald on June 3, 2013
