Free Node.js Lessons for Everyone, Sold Out Partners and Much More

Last Monday I posted an update to say that after 12 hours, we'd reached 100% funding. A week later, we're 410% funded and 41% of the way towards our extremely ambitious stretch goal! A lot has happened, so it's time for another update. I'm going to try and keep these updates to 1-per-week for the life of the Kickstarter project (perhaps one extra at the very end). Don't want to spam you, do want to keep you in the loop with what's going on.

Learn Node.js for Free

One of the most commonly asked questions I've had so far since launching the Ghost Kickstarter campaign has been "I'm a developer, can you recommend some resources for Node.js so I can learn how to build stuff on top of Ghost?". Today I'm very very happy to announce that Code School is an official Ghost partner - and we will be giving away a free Node.js course on Code School to every single one of our backers.

Important note: We're not just doing this because they backed us at a partner level. I actually learned Node.js *from* Code School myself and they have - in my opinion - the best system in out there to learn programming. I approached *them* to set this up.

Respect.

Once the Kickstarter campaign is complete, we'll send all of you details for how you can get access to the free Node.js course from us!

Sold Out of Ghost Partners

"I've never seen the top level of Kickstarter reward sell out before … Until @TryGhost just did." - Andy Ellwood, Forbes

We're completely sold out of our top level partner-list rewards. We had some amazing companies fighting it out for the last available slot, but ultimately it was snapped up by Tucker Max - NYT Best Selling Author of 'I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell'.

He joins Seth Godin, Darren Rowse (ProBlogger) and Leo Babauta (Zen Habits) on our 2,000+ strong list of incredible backers.

So, here are all the other Ghost partners who we can confirm so far!

atechmedia are an internet software development company, specialising in web applications built on top of the popular Ruby on Rails framework. They've built incredible software that you've probably already used, like CodeBase, Deploy, and Sirportly.

MarketPress is Germany’s #1 market place for WordPress Plugins & Themes. Founded by the guys behind WordPress Germany and responsible for the official German language translation. They're also the people behind the world's most popular WordPress backup plugin: BackWPup.

SingleHop is a leading global provider of hosted IT infrastructure and Cloud computing. They were one of the fastest growing IaaS provider in the US for 2010, 2011 and 2012 according to Inc. Magazine.

What's Going on Right Now + How You Can Help

There's a huge amount of work to do but the wheels are fully in motion now to get Ghost finished and shipped to all of our backers. We're already bringing additional people onto the core team that will finalise the first version of Ghost and we're pulling together all of our resources to plan the next few months.

So far we're on track to hit our stretch goal - but we need your help to make it happen. As with all Kickstarter projects - the middle of the campaign is the slowest in terms of funding - so at the moment we simply need to get Ghost in front of as many people as possible.

How can you help? By taking a moment to share Ghost with other people on the internet. We've made this an approximate 9-second process by setting up a page that lets you do all of it in one place:

Thanks for all of your help and support thus far!

John

Even though I'm already a Code School subscriber, it's definitely awesome you're doing this w/ Code School. Highly recommend all backers take advantage of everything Code School has to offer.

So happy I backed this project - I'm excited to learn that you have a partner with Code School! Can't wait to learn some useful things myself :D Thanks for giving us all a free course! It would be helpful to know how to use the Ghost program, right?

I poked around the Code School site. I tried the free introductory Git course and will probably do the introductory jQuery course sometime this week; if that goes well, then I'll probably look at some of the paid courses. (And I will definitely take advantage of the Node.js class.)

Which I'm sure is part of the plan; it's like you guys know what you're doing!
