About this project
Risks and challenges
Initially our challenge is getting the money in the door. We have begun on the first two mobile apps and website.
There are a good number of "legal" and "back office" type tasks that need to be squared away ASAP.
After the App is complete and the housecleaning has been wrapped up, the next challenge is to get the tank loaded up with gas and prime the pump. This is where the high pledge folks come into play by assisting with getting us in front of the right people that can bring the final part home.
After that is complete, the last challenge is properly marketing one of the most unique and compelling mobile apps on the market today.

The basic idea is simple. I like free stuff and I am guessing that you do too. That is the goal with BoxOlio. You can get free stuff. Not used, leftover, crappy stuff. Who wants that? I want cool stuff, electronic stuff, expensive stuff. Use this app, have a chance to get cool stuff, for free. No catch, no membership, no tricks; just free stuff. Maybe a laptop, maybe a TV, maybe even a brand new (fill in the blank with your favorite thing)! SWEET!
That answer is as simple as the previous one; I don't. In the spirit of the original "DOT COM" movement I have not actually figured out (or even put much thought into) how to make money with this yet. The most likely scenario is that it will never make money and will be a distant memory two years from now. In the meantime, lets get some free stuff! I want free stuff and so do you. So lets get a bunch of people using this app and start getting free stuff.
You are no doubt wondering how will there be cool free stuff to giveaway if nobody makes money and there is no plan to charge for this. Easy again. The people who make this awesome stuff will "donate" one or two (or more!) of these sweet gadgets and in return they get some cheap (dang near free) exposure. Everybody wins!
Initially the funds from this campaign will go to pay for the products that we will be giving away. Hopefully, after time, we can get enough cool free stuff that we wont have to subsidize the project.
This is actually harder than I make it sound and there is a lot of thought, effort and programming (not too mention marketing, sales and luck) involved here. You can help. Donate on the kickstarter campaign, tell your friends, share this page, print a flyer and tape it to a post, like us on facebook, do anything at all that you think will help. I need your support to make this happen.
Install the app and get a chance to win free awesome stuff every week. Easy enough right?
I am a successful upper level director in the IT world for a large company in the Energy sector. That is how I provide for my family. This project is something that I think will be really cool that will let other cool people win equally cool stuff in a very easy way. That being said, at this time, I am not going to publish all of my personal details to the whole world and possibly jeopardize my current position. I have nothing to hide and look forward to asking questions. I invite you to pledge at the $100 or higher number to be provided with my direct contact information. These emails and phone numbers are not just made up for this they are all accounts I have had for years and use daily. These are the same numbers and emails my family, friends, co-workers and employer have. Call me up, shoot me an email, and lets talk about BoxOlio, or InfoSec, or Weather, just anything besides sports, Potato Salad and the app call "YO".
Great question. The short answer is no. Because I am running the system, I will actually NEVER win anything. Really, its counter-intuitive when you think about it. I like free stuff, I want free stuff, I create an app to win free stuff but I will never actually win free stuff. So, here is my plan. When I get the manufacturers, vendors, or whomever, to hand over the freebies to win on BoxOlio, I will ask them for one extra just for me :)
Will it work, I sure hope so. Otherwise I am SOL on the free stuff train. Maybe you guys can donate your free stuff to me when your done.
