OUT OF PLACE is the first full-length album from LA-based Singer/Songwriter John Bobek. You can help him make it the best it can be!
Hello, Interwebs. John Bobek here. I'm looking to record a full-length album of original music called OUT OF PLACE, a follow up to I WILL BE YOURS - THE EP, which I released last year (Available here on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, CD Baby, and perhaps even your heart), and it's going to be quite an endeavor.
In fact, it reminds me of a quote.
"Life is so hard, Tommy. Sometimes I think it's the hardest thing there is."
Amateur philosopher Chuckie Finster said that in a memorable episode of Nickelodeon's "Rugrats" many years ago. And he couldn't be more right. Sometimes life is tough. And the only way we can deal with it is to ask for help.
So here I am asking for yours. I have music that I need to get out of me and into ears, but need your help to do it. Creating real music with real musicians is expensive, and getting it out there, supporting it, and putting it into the hands of people who can do more with it is even more so. The money I'm looking to raise will cover recording costs, reproduction costs, costs to hire real musicians and technicians (I'm a job creator!), and marketing costs to get the music out there and into the hands of the kinds of people that can fund a career, not just a project.
Funds raised will supplement the budget for my new project "Out Of Place", a full-length album of original music.
I love writing songs. I love performing them. I want to do this for a very long time, and I think I've got an interesting way to get that love out there, in musical form. Last year, on my own, I recorded a 4-song EP entitled "I Will Be Yours", and I was very happy with the results, but at the end of the day, the cost to get it out there to all the right people became an issue, and being a two man self-started business (my music manager Jake Schaefer with Emphatic Entertainment and I) wasn't enough to do all the things we wanted to do with it. So we want to invite you to be a part of it. I'd be ever grateful and, hey, you'd be helping me hire real, incredible musicians, and you'd help support independent music!
Also, it's my birthday, coming up on May 22. It's a big one. *cough30cough* I'll be 25 years old. Again. There would be no better gift than my friends and supporters coming together to help my project become a reality. So if birthday guilt works, I'll do that, too. :)
We're working through a heavy tracklist for "Out Of Place." Considering an album usually calls for 10-12 songs, I've got plenty written and ready to go, they just need to be recorded properly.
This is a long winded way of saying that, in the end, your pledge would help make this all a reality, and I love the idea that friends, old and new, can help me make this dream a reality. We've got 30 days to do it. Thanks for reading, thanks for pledging, and thanks for being one of the hands pushes me over the wall to getting this thing done.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
