The GrovePi Zero makes electronics prototyping with the Raspberry Pi Zero easy and fast. The powerful little Raspberry Pi Zero is just waiting for you to release your maker creativity and build the projects you’re passionate about. With the GrovePi Zero you can start your connected device projects in minutes.
The GrovePi Zero simplifies making your project: there are no more jumpers, no more breadboards, and no more loose parts to bring your Internet of Things devices to life.
You can use the hundreds of sensors offered in the Grove module family: everything from a distance sensor, light sensor, temperature and humidity sensor, buttons, and displays. There are literally hundreds of electronic modules for your project!
GrovePi Zero has a compact form factor, making your design small. The design fits neatly over the Raspberry Pi Zero.
Our rich open source programming examples and libraries make it easy to connect your sensors and interact with the physical world.
The GrovePi Zero comes with many options for programming. Our community-developed software library has programming examples for most Grove sensors in Python, C, Java, and Scratch. Our examples and libraries are clearly documented, making them easy to understand and use.
New to the Raspberry Pi?
Our software makes getting started with the Pi and with the GrovePi Zero easy. You can download our latest and install it on your microSD card, or back at one of the Starter Kit levels to get an 8GB Micro SD Card pre-loaded with Raspbian for Robots.
We have a thorough set of “Getting Started” videos that walk you through the basic setup of the GrovePi and Raspberry Pi, as well as written directions. If you run into trouble, we are always happy to help on our forums!
We have a simple page and video that will walk you through getting the GrovePi Zero set up. You can use our custom version of Raspbian that makes getting started quick and easy. You can also use Microsoft WinIoT, or you can install the GrovePi Zero software on your own operating system.
In addition to detailed video instructions and written instructions on getting set up and using the GrovePi Zero, we provide technical support through our forums where you can get help from our community, and Dexter Industries engineers.
We plan to ship all backer levels within two months of the end of the Kickstarter Campaign. We have arranged manufacturing and have a purchase ready to go, we just need your support! At the end of our successful campaign, we estimate we will need approximately a month to manufacture, and we will need a month for logistics.

What's Not Included?
None of the reward packages include a Raspberry Pi Zero. Because these are not available for bulk purchase, we can not guarantee their availability. Don't fear! You can easily purchase a Raspberry Pi Zero from your local distributor.
Your Raspberry Pi Zero must have a header attached to connect the GrovePi Zero. If your Raspberry Pi Zero does not have a 40 pin header attached, you may need to solder one onto your board!
Who are we?
We are Dexter Industries and our team makes delightful educational and maker hardware and systems! We were founded by John Cole, an engineer who had never touched a soldering iron before 2009, but had a burning desire to make robots. When we saw the Raspberry Pi, we saw the future and dove in after it head first!
Risks and challenges
There are risks to every hardware project. Having successfully completed a few previous Kickstarter Projects, we would like to think we're wiser and more capable than ever before.
Risks to manufacturing include material delivery delays, QA/QC delays, and customs delays (just to name a few).
There are risks to fulfillment: once we have the parts manufactured and tested, we have to ship them to our backers. Fortunately, we've been shipping products to people all over the world for a few years, and we've got loads of experience with this, and a fantastic logistical team to make this happen. We have priced all of our products for standard delivery via USPS.
There are risks to delivery. For simplicity, we are pricing our rewards with standard United States Postal Service Parcel shipping. USPS has been a reliable partner for years, but from time to time they can lose an order in the system.
We will do our best to make every backer whole, and honor everyone that backs our project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
