What media say about the Vegua
Fish friendly design
The animal friendly design makes fish feel happy. Because of the curve that partially covers the tank, fish have a place to hide and an orientation point. Furthermore, there is plenty of oxygen in the water. This is caused by the water that falls down from the plant tray into the fish-tank resulting in a moving water surface allowing new oxygen to mix with the water. To keep the fish happy, you only need to feed the fish by opening the lid on top of the Vegua.
Feeding the fish will start the process. Bacteria in the system convert the fish waste (ammonia) into nitrates. Nitrates are amazing nutrients for the plants. The plants continuously absorb the nitrates. This results in fast growing plants and clean water for your fish.
What you will receive from us
Every pledge level with a Vegua includes:
- Basil, Coriander and Parsley seeds (EU only)
- Internal filter pump with correct power cord corresponding to your country
- Growstones to fill the tray
- Manual to show you how to start growing your own food with the Vegua
Taking the environment and aquaponics into account, you will be provided with growstones a substrate used for soil-less purposes which is made from recycled glass. This material holds the perfect amount of water and provides space for bacteria to multiply, resulting in fast growing plants and clean water.
Food you can grow in your own Vegua
A wide variety of herbs can be grown in the Vegua including but not limited to Basil, Coriander, Mint, Chives, Rosemary, Parsley and Thyme.
You can also grow some small vegetables and fruits like Tomatoes, Peppers and even Strawberry. You will need to pollinate the flowers yourself, unless you keep bees inside.
For a complete overview of herbs, vegetables and fruits please visit our website.
Fish suitable for a Vegua
The bottom part of the Vegua is like a small fresh water aquarium. You can easily keep fish like Goldfish, Bloodfin Tetras and White Cloud. If you put a small heater in the water, you can also keep fish like Guppies, Black Mollies and Zebra Danios.
Make your own creations in the blink of an eye

Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture
The Vegua is officially selected as innovative product to exhibit at this major event and inform people about our new way to produce food.
Risks and challenges
We have successfully created a working prototype, one of the hardest parts we have faced until now. While tweaking the design we constantly consulted various experts on different fields for their feedback and we are happy to say that our design meets their high standards.
A lot of time is invested to make sure everything will run smooth until you have received your Vegua, but it is hard to foresee every possible bump in the road like political events etcetera. We found excellent partners that are highly qualified for producing, assembling, packing and shipping your Vegua to wherever you live in the world. We made sure that we have a backup for every partner, if for some reason a partner is unable to fulfill his role.
It is hard to estimate the exact delivery dates, but we promise to keep our backers well informed throughout the entire process and we will do everything in our power to deliver your Vegua on time and in perfect condition!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
