About this project
Regardless if our funding goal is met, everybody who pledges is getting 44 pages of comics digitally! The 12-page Dry Seasons New York Comic Con comic with two short stories, sketches, pencils; and Space Corps #0, 32-pages of anthology that I had a story in, lettered half of, and story edit. 44 pages of comics!
What's the story?
Dry Seasons is Romeo & Juliet meets Mad Max.
Years after the apocalypse, Ann and Paul are two star-crossed lovers. They uncover a plot that could destroy their families, and other survivors.

Dry Seasons is an action-adventure story, lo-fi sci-fi comic book mini series. The four print and digital issues of Dry Seasons will be a complete "done-in-one" that has possibilities for future volumes.
We're doing full-color pages, each issue'll be 22 pages of original story and art. You can get signed editions, t-shirts, digital copies, behind-the-scenes info... there're lots of ways to check out Dry Seasons.

Ann’s family runs the town of New Joad, controlling the fertile soil. Ann is the dutiful daughter, suffering in silence for “what’s best for the family.” In the shadow of her older brother and sister, Ann plods along, numb to life.
Paul’s family leads the town of Potes, and its usable water. Paul is the middle kid, sandwiched between two superstar siblings. He thinks the dirt farmers should choke on their dust. Give Paul a day on a boat and he forgets all about the land.
Both sides need each other to live, but decades of hate and mistrust make it almost impossible.
Then one day New Joad is attacked by raiders. In an effort to ensure their mutual survival, the two families meet. That’s when Ann and Paul fall in love.

Where's the money going?

I like your moxie. If we exceed the goal, we'll be able to put extra funds towards bonuses like more original art rewards, postcards, digital stand-alone stories, covering all the production costs for Dry Seasons, and expanding to more issues.
Yeah, what if you get like "Order of the Stick" exceeding?
Alright, you're hired into the Dry Seasons marketing department, that's some gumption. If we exceed the goal amount by "a whole bunch" we'll do some fun things like "making of" videos, offer up more original art, get some variant covers, produce a stand-alone issue with some guest creators, and do a live-action Web short.
That's right, live-action Web short. You said "Order of the Stick." I produced a documentary on professional bearding, I'm not playing around here (I'm totally playing around, it's a documentary about a facial hair competition).
Who is Making Dry Seasons?
Writing - Joey Groah is an award-winning writer/director/producer creating content for a variety of national and international clients including The Travel Channel, Discovery Communications, Comcast, and more. He's produced hours of video including original documentaries like Beardo the Movie. Joey also currently story edits the Webcomic Space Corps, as well as writing Space Corps short stories.
Art - Ryan Cody is a comic book artist, freelance illustrator & writer. He has previously illustrated the critically acclaimed graphic novel VILLAINS for Viper Comics. Ryan also contributed original covers for The Hero Initiative’s Ultimate Spider-Man #100 and Hulk #1 projects, helping to raise tens of thousands of dollars for comic book creators with medical and financial needs. Other clients include Image Comics, Maverik Films and Pearson Digital Education.
Editing - Paul Allor is the writer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fugitoid, Orc Girl and Clockwork, Volume One. His editing credits include Rex, Zombie Killer, Deluge and Girls Night Out. You can follow him on Twitter at @PaulAllor.

Risks and challenges
I've been working on Dry Seasons for over two years. I joined a comics creating community called the Comics Experience Workshop so I could meet and learn from other people at various stages in their comics careers. My work has been critiqued by writers like Mike Raicht (writer The Stuff of Legend, Dark Shadows, former Marvel Comics editor), I've gotten to interact with comic creators from all walks of life including the Big Two, smaller publishers like Image, IDW, and Archaia and more. Writers, artists, editors, colorists, lawyers, marketers have all come through the Comics Experience Workshop and I've gotten to learn, ask questions, and build relationships with the comics community.
As a creator-owned comic, the costs for art, lettering, editing, printing, and distribution of Dry Seasons falls on me. With crowd sourced projects, I've always thought of pledging as "pre-ordering." I pre-order comics, I pre-order TV seasons, I pre-order live standup and concert tickets.
I've talked with some comic book publishers, and it's a tough time for most companies. While I don't have a firm commitment, I've had conversations with American publishers offering national and international distribution. Regardless of WHO publishes Dry Seasons, me solo working with Ryan and Paul or us partnering with an established publisher, we still have to deliver a finished comic to be published.
I'd like to deliver that comic to you sooner rather than later with or without a publisher. If we do get a publisher, this version of issues 1-4 will be the limited first edition of the mini series, and you will have made that happen. It'll be a couple months, like you pre-order comics, books, or tickets.
