About

You can have the finest liquor, serve the most scrumptious dishes, create ambiance with your stylish décor… but if people are bored, a party can slowly turn into a bust. The host-with-the-most is surely the one who provides an entertaining experience. A group of friends in Southern California wants to help make your next soiree a fabulously fun affair; they’ve created That Gay Game™ a party game that will “bring out the gay in you.”

Introducing That Gay Game™

Designed for teams (4 players and up) it weaves together pop culture, fashion, music, gay history and fun to create an evening of laughter. This group of friends originally created it for a party - the game was a huge hit and we have decided to launch this Kickstarter campaign to bring it to life as a real game that you can purchase online!

Our goal with this Kickstarter campaign is to generate interest and funding to produce 1,000 copies of the game, launch a website where people can order or download cards for self-printing. We have created a business plan, have a graphic designer retained and identified a printer to work with. We have purchased www.ThatGayGame.com to establish a website where people can order the game online or download a PDF to print the cards.

How That Gay Game is played:

How That Gay Game is played:

The game is played with a deck of cards - each card has a challenge or question; to win the card (we call it a trick), your team must successfully do what the card says. At the end of the game, the team with the most tricks (cards) wins.

Cards come in one of three categories: Drag Show, True Story Bro, and Gay Charades.

Drag Show: you must get your your team to guess what celebrity is named on the card by giving them your best impersonation of that person. From actors and musicians, to political figures and other famous gay men, let your inner diva come out so you can win the card.

True Story, Bro: These cards will test your gay trivia and pop culture knowledge. True Story Bro cards are a mixture of true/false and multiple choice questions. What's cool about this category are trivia questions about historical moments in the gay rights movement, and famous supporters of gay rights. Not only are you having fun, but you just might learn something new.

Gay Charades: As its name implies, this is the gay version of the parlor game where you act out clues to get your team to guess the correct answer. In Gay Charades, you can also make noises but there is no talking. The team gets a hint, such as activity, movie, place or thing. You never know what you'll get in Gay Charades, but one thing is certain: they are hilariously gay topics that will bring out the gay in you.

Risks and challenges

The biggest challenge is managing the printing costs, and we've identified a printing company to work with us; our goal with this Kickstarter campaign is to generate interest and funding to produce 1,000 copies of the game and launch an official website where people can order or buy downloads to print the game on their own. We estimate final retail price to be $25.00 for a game and $10.00 for downloads that can be printed.

We have filed the paperwork for a Trade Mark registration for "That Gay Game" as well.
