We are completely funded! We reached the goal very early this morning, which means as soon as the Kickstarter ends we can proceed to mixing and mastering. This is just insane. I saw a notification from Kickstarter alongside a text from Kaela when I woke up, and I thought I was dreaming. Because Kaela never texts me. Unless she wants me to buy cheese on the way to her apartment. Oh, and because Kickstarter told me we've raised $12,333.
However, it wasn't a dream, and we really have reached funding, and this album really is going to happen.
Here's what's next: I'm going to schedule the mixing sessions with Gabe Herman, our mixing engineer, call Jim Chapdelaine about mastering, plan the rest of the album artwork with Crees Lee, design t shirts, posters, and the digital album booklet, and prepare the Kickstarter rewards for you incredibly generous people.
One amazing thing is that we raised over $12,000 with 48 backers. That's an average donation of $250. Thank you all so much. Your support means everything to me, and this album wouldn't be possible without it.
Kickstarter recommends having a "Stretch Goal" - a funding plan outside of the initial goal - in case you reach your primary objective with time to spare. My stretch goal for this campaign is to make vinyl. It'll cost $1600, excluding shipping costs, to make 300 beautiful vinyl pressings of Brighter Moons. So if you know anyone who'd like to pledge, please let them know that from now on, any money we raise will go towards that.
Thank you all again for creating this with me.
