Part of the excitement of producing new music is that our audiences are privy to new work before anyone else. Join IBOC for our concert preview of composer Joao MacDowell's, The Seventh Seal opera, adapted with text from Ingmar Bergman's legendary film of the same name.
The Seventh Seal follows the story of a disillusioned crusader’s return to his plague-ravaged homeland and subsequent chess match with Death. This apocalyptic journey of life and death is timelessly relevant.
This November IBOC are having a concert preview of Act One of this new opera in NYC. It willAct One will be sung in Swedish with projected English subtitles.
Your contribution today will make an immediate impact on our project. Even one dollar will pull us closer to bringing this exciting new work to life. Help us to share this with audiences and propel it to the next level. Every dollar raised will go directly towards overhead and production expenses.

As you can see from our budgets below, ticket sales do not cover all of our cost, even with a full house. We have been raising funds for this production for over one year. We are close to meeting our basic cost.
The first goal of this campaign is to complement with documentation and post-production costs from our Act 1 recitals. Once we reach that goal we will raise the payment of professionals agreed to work on a symbolic rate or pro-bono.
With your help: we will guarantee that every professional gets a fair pay, but we may also reach a higher level of production by paying all who are volunteering and embracing the risk of this production with us.
IBOC is a 501c3 non-profit and we have been working to raise funds for this production for more than a year. Your donation may be tax exempt, to the extent of the law.
The first goal here is $2K to complement cost for Act 1 recitals, mostly covering professional audio and video editing for the material that we will be preparing to send you. Then we have intermediate goals of $10K and $20K. Once we reach beyond the $40K mark, we will continue to invest in the production of Act 2 in concert, aiming at full staged production for 2018, celebrating Bergman's centenary.
Bergman's text deals with some of the most important questions of life. With your help we can create a special moment of artistic beauty, a moment of music that we can share. A moment of art that may justify our very presence on the planet at this point in our lives.

Risks and challenges
We are close to reaching our basic "Guaranteed Minimum" funding goal.
We hope to go beyond and raise enough funds to be able to pay for every professional evolved and to be able to continue this project at a higher level, as it deserves.
We have done this five times in the past, it is a large production for a small company. We do run the risk of being overwhelmed by the production and having to balance seeking money with a focus on the show.
That being said, we are committed and production is already underway. If we do not meet our goal, we will have to consider pulling from other portions of the budget, which can risk the artistic integrity of the production to compensate.
We are bound to present a great experience in live and digital formats, with your support we will be certain to do so.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
