About

Telemazing is a brand-new, weekly webseries where we talk about everything related to TV shows. With a designated host, panelists will talk, discuss, and debate on a ridiculous amount of comedies and dramas, and whether they're worth watching. Along the way, we'll also recommend shows for when your show finishes its season or gets cancelled, when you're done binge-watching your Netflix show, or when you want to know what's the next good show to watch. We even take a occasional look into niche genres too (e.g. British shows, sci-fi, reality, anime, etc). In a nutshell, Telemazing is the webseries for people who love television by people who love television. If you love television, and you love talking about television, or even if you're a casual viewer, this show is being created with you in mind.

I started a blog called Why Television is Amazing 4 years ago, where I reviewed new shows from ABC, NBC, etc. and gave my opinion on whether they were worth watching. After years of writing, I realized I liked talking about TV shows more than writing about them. So I constructed an idea to create a talk show similar to Phillip DeFranco's show, but I knew it had to be more than just me talking to a camera. So, I started developing ideas which eventually became Telemazing

Most people are curious about new shows. but don't have the time to watch them all to see if they're any good. And usually when they do, the show wasn't good and ended up being a waste of the viewer's time. That's where Telemazing comes in: we tell you what new shows are worth watching (or not), and how current shows are doing. The show aims to create a community of TV viewers, active or causal, to discuss any show, anytime. With quality expertise, outgoing panelists, and genre-based recommendations of little to unknown shows, we want Telemazing to be your quickest way to know what's worth watching.

I'm Joseph Mwamba, the Creator, Executive Producer, and Host of Telemazing. You can click on my name for a biography, but this isn't about me. It's about my awesome new team.

Panelists:

I have six engaging, intelligent panelists (with more coming over time) who love television more than anyone I know & can talk-shop among the best of them. They will earn your trust as they give you their expertise on TV shows everywhere.

Each panelist has their own unique style and television taste, which you'll see during our pilot. This helps us cover a large spectrum of television shows to talk about. But most importantly, these guys are so much fun to talk to; their chemistry (on and off camera) is off the charts, and is obvious on screen. I'm so excited to have assembled such a great team.

Production Schedule:

We will shoot 11 episodes, producing a minimum of 33 clips, starting with our season premiere on Sunday, September 13th, a week before the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards and unofficially near the start of the 2015 Fall TV Season. We will shoot 11 of the following 13 Sundays until our season finale on December 6th.

We will also produce a laid-back version of Telemazing called On the Couch (w.t.), where the panelists can really get into their discussions, free of time-constraints. This will be a clip-based show; so while Telemazing will be released on Sundays, 3-4 clips of On The Couch will be released throughout each week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). We're doing this to keep our viewers interacting during the week with our team and content.

So in essence, the budget for one show is really giving you two shows. Pretty cool, eh?

Crew:

Kevin Green will run our production crew side of operations, and will be tasked to assemble a small principal shooting crew. He has experience in doing this task well, doing so for his indie film PRIORS, releasing within the next few months; and also for the upcoming comedy webseries he's executive producing, SITUATIONSHIPS (both projects of which I'm a Consulting Producer).

We want to raise funds to afford essentials, along with premium features to make sure the show meets our quality expectations. Our budget is based on hard numbers, discussed among multiple vendors from our studio rates all the way down to our Kickstarter Fees:

We have unique rewards for becoming a part of the Telemazing Team, and we thank you so much for your backing. So why not give you even more? So with your individual rewards, you also get benchmark rewards!

Every time we reach a major benchmark of our funding (10%, 20%, etc.), you get Behind-the-Scene looks at the show, the panelists, myself, or bloopers. And we have so many bloopers. So you now have three incentives to back us up: your individual reward, the overall goal reward, and the benchmark rewards. Why? Because we love you. Stay alert when we sent those out.

We explain the names of our rewards, while also diving into more details:

Dick Van Dyke Level ($10): One of the class-acts of yesteryear, and you'll be one as well with your $10 backing. Like the classy men and women of those days, you deserve a well-written thank you letter. Just over the internet. What a class act you are.

Brady Bunch Effect ($25): You'll become part of the family as an Official Supporter of Telemazing. And since there are 8 members of Bradys (sorry, Alice), you'll get 8 "Thank You"s from our 8 Telemazing members in sizzle style!

It's All in the Family ($50): All in the Family got real personal, and we will too. You'll receive a personalized, thank you video from myself and one other panelist. Also, with it becoming nice outside, we wanted to also send you a Telemazing Frisbee. So, go out and play!

On the Fields of M*A*S*H ($100)M*A*S*H is consistently discussed as the #1 show in TV History, and owns the record for the highest series finale of all-time. So this is an important reward for us. You get promoted from "Supporter" to the exclusive "Special Thanks" supporter category. And a new rank deserves a new outfit, so you'll also receive this exclusive, sleek Telemazing shirt.

Where Everybody Knows Your Name ($250): Cheers was always about having a single place to talk about anything and everything among friends. So if you're in the NYC area, come join us for our first pilot AND our wrap party. For those not in the NYC area, you are just as important and vital to us, so we'll take 30 minutes of our time to talk about anything TV related. We'll be excited to meet our awesome backers here face-to-face: whether personally or through the web.

We Run The Sopranos ($500): The Sopranos did it their way, so do a segment your way too. Tell us what shows you want us to talk about and we will do it. No questions asked. Okay, some questions asked, but no worries; our only requirement is the show wasn't cancelled as of September 13th, 2015. Of course, we want to talk about Breaking Bad and Firefly. But we gotta stay current.

Friends Come From All Over ($1,000): Friends ended up being bigger than anyone could have imagined when it started. You now have reached a level where certain kindness just can't be stated or gifted enough. So become an Associate Producer of our project for the season. As part of the job, you get to choose a permanent subgenre (i.e. Teen Reality, Premium-Channel Comedies, Law Dramas, Nick comedies, etc). A show or topic related to your selected genre has to come up in every episode for the entire season. Friends was a big deal, and so is this reward. Could you be any more awesome?

The Seinfeld Experience ($2,500): There was a time Seinfeld was literally everywhere and everything. It still kind of is. So instead of running a segment, you get to run an entire Telemazing episode. Call or Skype in to our production meetings (or if you're in NYC, join us personally), and we will hand the show over to you. Choose the shows/topics for each segment, choose the panelists to discuss them, and even pick the music that day. You also have control over our final episode segment, Discovery, where if you want to be a panelist, you are more than welcome to. Otherwise, we'll find the right panelist for any topic you want discussed. You'll also get credit as an Executive Producer for this episode.

The Victor of Game of Thrones ($5,000): The highest honor of backers, you will become an Executive Producer of Telemazing's first season. Your thoughts and suggestions into serious discussions. If you spent this much on us, it must mean you really believe in the show, and the best way we can show you our gratitude is by allowing you to become part of our process. We couldn't possibly thank you enough, so this is the closest to our heart we can get.

From all of us from Telemazing, thank you for taking the time to read our Kickstarter and for giving us the opportunity to talk about TV shows among fans of the popular medium. TV viewers have gone off into their segmented TV worlds, which are of course fun. But we want to bring the party together again. We want to bring the Water Cooler back, in essence. Now how Telemazing would that be?

Thank you for your support. Completely and sincerely.

Risks and challenges

We understand any media-related undertaking is a huge risk; however, our team has a done a pretty decent job dramatically reduce such risks. We already have a studio ready to sign with our production schedule upon complete funding. We also have two back-up studios ready. For labor, we've met with affordable crew members we know, working with them before. While there'll still be new crew members, we've still reduced the risk of unexpected results. Our highest risk falls on our cast, who could give weak performances, miss TV show deadlines, or miss shoot days (sickness, emergencies, etc.). However, we've reduced the risk by bringing in multiple panelists and they, along with our crew, have promised to uphold the quality and integrity the webseries demands.
