Update #6

Shipped!

A PDF copy of the guide has been emailed to all backers. If you did not receive it for some reason, please send an email to audiopodcastguide@gmail.com and I will get it to you as soon as possible.

As I mentioned in the email that accompanied the PDF, the audio plug-in presets for $25 and higher backers will be sent later this week. Production of the microphone shootout audio files for $50 and higher backers will be completed this month. The tests are being recorded using a higher quality microphone preamp than I initially had access to.

$100 and above backers: If you have not yet received your consultation, please email me so we can get it scheduled. I look forward to talking with those of you I haven't met!

Thank you again for your support. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

-Jim

Update #5

We have a date: December 3rd!

Hello, project backers! The guide will be released on Monday, December 3rd. I apologize for the delay, and sincerely wish I had been able to make the intended October ship date. Quite simply, life, a soul crushing daily commute, and time commitments to my day job(s) have made the past several months extraordinarily challenging for me. I've even had to go so far as to indefinitely shelve my own podcast.

However, those things aren't your problems—they're mine and mine alone. I am committed to putting the final touches on the guide. To that end, I've time carved time out of my schedule over the next week to make some changes, additions, and corrections. I want to thank you not only for your support, but also for your patience. Without going into details, it is much appreciated!

Update #4

Makin' Copy Edits!

We're inching closer to a final release. The guide is just about ready for copy editing and formatting. Again, thanks so much for your continued support. I can't wait to get this into your hands!

Update #3

The big month!

Once again, thank you everyone for your support! I look forward to shipping the guide later this month. I'm especially looking forward to begin talking with everyone who will be receiving training/consultation via Skype. I've done that for people in the past—It's always a lot of fun. This project is really making me think hard about good ways to organize information and then put it into a package that's easy to follow. Even though the guide is a "brain dump" of podcasting information, I didn't want it to read like one! I'll be in touch again when we get closer to a specific release date. Thanks! - Jim

Update #2

Knee Deep in Podcasting Goodness

Comment
Work on the guide is well underway! I'm planning to have it copy edited and and in the hands of a designer for layouts sometime around the end of the month. Also, I have studio time booked later in September to record the microphone comparison that contributors at the $50 and higher level will receive. For those of you who contributed at a level that includes Skype/iChat consultation: If you'd like to try and book something in September in advance of the guide being done, let me know. Otherwise, I'll do my best to accommodate everyone in October, with overflow into November if necessary. Thanks again for your support and encouragement. This project would not have happened without all of you!
