Atlanta, Georgia. October 11-13.

The What.

Join your fellow women podcasters for a weekend of learning, camaraderie, and belonging as you learn the core skills and aspects you need for every stage of podcasting. You'll hear from women who have been successful podcasting ON THEIR OWN TERMS, who have done things THEIR way and will teach you how to do the same.

We are planning to have 3-4 separate tracks for women in all different parts of the podcasting journey.

Start.

Sessions in this track will include:

  • What tech you need right away and how to uplevel later
  • How to fit podcasting into your already busy life
  • Making unorthodox recording areas work for you (anyone else hiding in their closet?)
  • Wrangling guests and managing your calendar
  • Celebrity interviews
  • Conquering the fear of being seen

 Refine

Sessions in this track will include:

  • What to do when you're unhappy with your audio
  • How to get the best audio from a guest
  • What to do when baby comes along (or baby #2! Or #3!)
  • Managing your marketing (or starting to market)
  • Time management
  • Developing a website
  • Up-leveling your brand
  • Storytelling and interview skills

 Grow

Sessions in this track will include:

  • Social media for audience growth
  • Audience engagement
  • Collaboration with other podcasters
  • Overcoming self-sabotage
  • Conquering fear of sales
  • Preparing to make your podcast a business
  • Outsourcing

 Accomplish

Sessions in this track will include:

  • Turning your podcast into a book
  • How to leverage your podcast into a speaking career
  • Being a professional podcaster or podcast host
  • Podcasting and Journalism Jobs
  • Successful Sponsorship Sales
  • Designing your podcasting business

And this is just the start!!

Each track will include sessions that speak to the skills for each phase as well as the mindset and energy that needs to be present in order for that phase to be conquered.

There will also be ample time to get to know one another, social gatherings, hot seats, collaboration opportunities and more! BEST PART: NOTHING STARTS BEFORE 10AM.

The Who. (You.)

Whether you wanna make this your career or you simply wanna press record and talk because you love podcasting. You belong.

Target Attendee: She Podcasts is a network of over 12K podcasters that identify as women and may or may not be career podcasters, or "corpcasters."

We want to host this first event to provide a space for all of us side-hustling podcasters navigating our work in a male-dominated industry.

Any gender identity and/or expression is valued and this event is targeting those that don’t fit the dominant avatar of podcast hosts, aka men. We will provide a safe space for non-binary podcasters, cisgender women as well as trans women to thrive in a safe space.

All political views, cultural experiences, abilities, racial and ethnic identities, are valued and encouraged as leaders in our community.  Sliding scale payment plans will be available and we are trying to accommodate all needs including financial needs, roommate listing, carpooling, food allergies, etc.

We need your help to make this experience a reality. Your support will allow us to prove that the women’s podcasting conference is a viable idea, one that deserves exploring and funding. Your contributions will provide social proof, as well as allow us to secure a venue, room blocks, and other needs to make sure an event of this magnitude is given life.

The Why

We know podcasting can be a lonely journey. 5 years ago, we started the Facebook group and podcast called She Podcasts. We hoped that together, as women, we could help propel each other and our messages forward and take away some of that “podcasting in a bubble” feeling.

For 5 years, many of you have asked for an in-person event - time to learn from one another, get to know one another, collaborate and support each other.

Finally, that time has come.

We dream of an event that is community-led. An event that caters specifically to what women want to learn. An event that is a part retreat and part conference and part slumber party. An event designed to make us feel beautiful, and brilliant, and included, and loved.

ABOUT SHE PODCASTS

She Podcasts began in 2014 as a small Facebook group, built so that our women podcaster friends could have a place online to get quick podcasting answers, tips and resources from one another. However, as soon as the group started, it grew enormously. Friends were adding friends and before long it had been built to almost 12,000 women in some phase of building and PRODUCING a podcast.

In the spirit of further support, a podcast was created to address issues and podcasting current events as they relate to women. Hosted by Elsie Escobar and Jessica Kupferman, the podcast entitled “She Podcasts” now boasts around 5000 downloads per month.

The vision for She Podcasts is to support and nurture as many female-lead podcasts as possible, and to encourage knowledge sharing without excessive promotion. Through the podcast, group coaching, workshops, webinars, and other educational materials, Elsie and Jessica hope to grow the number of successful woman-hosted podcasts, thereby giving light and voice to the millions of messages that need to be shared with the world.

She Podcasts, the community, has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, and Forbes.com, and was named one of Apple Podcasts' "Inspiring Women's Voices."

You can learn more about Elsie and Jessica, as well as their community on their website, She Podcasts.
